“The Rum Diary follows Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp), a divorced alcoholic and struggling novelist who decides to kick around in San Juan until his ship comes in, working as a journalist for a newspaper that’s on its last legs, drinking gallons of rum and experimenting with LSD. With his new friend Bob Sala by his side, Kemp becomes entangled in a corrupt hotel development scheme with a slick PR consultant named Sanderson.”
Director Bruce Robinson managed to assemble an interesting cast, besides Johnny Depp, the film is also starring Aaron Eckhart (Aaron Eckhart), Richard Jenkins and Giovanni Ribisi. Something funny: Johnny Depp is at odds with Christian Bale (Batman) in Public Enemies but he befriends Aaron Eckhart (The Joker Two Face) in this Rum Diary movie.
The Rum Diary movie will be released in 2010.

I left the PR town they were shooting in the day before Depp showed up. I was so upset to not have the chance to have checked him out in action.
