Bane is the main villain in the Dark Knight Rises, the movie sequel to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight. For those who don’t know Bane:
Bane was born in the fictional Caribbean Republic of Santa Prisca, in a prison called Pena Dura (“Hard Rock”). When his father escaped from prison, the boy was forced to serve out his father’s life sentence, and thus Bane’s childhood and early adult life are spent in the amoral penitentiary environment. Though imprisoned, he’s eager to develop his natural abilities, reads as many books as he can get his hands on, builds up his body in the prison’s gym, and learns to fight in the merciless school of prison life. Bane ultimately establishes himself as the “king” of Pena Duro prison.
The prison’s controllers take note and eventually force him to become a test subject for a mysterious drug known as Venom, which had killed all other subjects. It nearly kills him at first, but he survives and finds the drug vastly increases his physical strength, although he needs to take it every 12 hours (via a system of tubes pumped directly into his brain) or he would suffer debilitating side-effects.
Years later, Bane escapes Pena Duro. His ambition turns to destroying Batman, whom he had heard tales of while serving his sentence. He is fascinated with Gotham City because, like the prison, it is a place where fear rules: in this case, fear of Batman. Bane is convinced that the demonic bat that haunted his dreams since childhood is a representation of the Batman.
Actor Tom Hardy got the role as Bane. You may remember his performance in the movie Bronson:

YES! my favorite villain in a Christopher Nolan Movie. This can not go wrong :D
Right on! A good actor, an excellent character, and in a promising movie. What more can anybody ask for?
After playing the games i found out that bane was experimented on with venom – now when he takes this it makes him stupidly strong (even though he already is!) in fact one of the comic geeks told me he broke batmans back (i don’t know whether any of this will be incorperated in the film. He’s one of the villans batman would sooner trap than fight just like killer croc. Also Ra’s al Ghul from batman begins has a daughter who was bruce/batmans beloved though it looks like catwoman will be the normal love/hate relationship though with these films no character has been portrayed like the old films, pity this is the last as they could use loads of villains that haven’t been used before like Ra’s al Ghul I love the riddler hope he makes an appearance. so can’t wait!
