Vastly outnumbered by a band of villains, led by Wīrepa (Te Kohe Tūhaka), Hongi’s only hope is to pass through the feared and forbidden Dead Lands and forge an uneasy alliance with the mysterious “Warrior” (Lawrence Makoare), a ruthless fighter who has ruled the area for years.”

THE DEAD LANDS

Where the warrior spirit was born.

The whole thing kind of reminds me of Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto” (–>check out the trailer). Fortunately the barbaric ways of old have been abandoned! Anyway, looks like a great film!

By the way, the actors from the film are mixed-race, aren’t they?

The film has yet to get an official release date.
