Their exoskeletons are great, and they do have awesome weapons, but maybe they should keep their helmets on? Wouldn’t it be safer?

I’d rather be immortal than live in a time-loop. But hey, a time loop is still better than dying, LoL!

EDGE OF TOMORROW

Live. Die. Repeat.

From Doug Liman, the director of The Bourne Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Plot:
“The epic action of Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.
Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again.
But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.”

Those godless aliens will burn in hell for trying to invade our dear planet: Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will save the day thanks to their awesome exoskeletons!

A new official picture of All You Need Is Kill has surfaced online, it features Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt:

All You Need Is Kill Trailer

(Click on a picture to enlarge.)

Plot:
“Humanity is at war with an alien race known as Mimics, and Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat until he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.
But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.”

The exoskeletons they’re wearing are a bit bulky, but they still look badass!

And below three earlier pictures from the set:

Thanks to Splash News, we may have a better at Tom Cruise riding that Triumph motorbike in this video:

The film is directed by Doug Liman. It is based on the Japanese short novel All You Need Is Kill written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

The release date of All You Need Is Kill is set for June 6, 2014.

A first look at Tom Cruise in a mech suit in All You Need Is Kill, the upcoming action science-fiction movie directed by Doug Liman and based the novel of the same name by Japanese author Hiroshi Sakurazaka:

All You Need Is Kill Movie Trailer

(Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Plot Synopsis:
“The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.
Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission.
But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.”

That mechanical suit doesn’t look that handy… But well as long as it does the job of helping to kill those goddamn alien invaders it will be fine!

Haven’t read the novel yet so i don’t what’s the whole time loop is about. Is his mind really locked into a time loop? Or is is he trapped in some kind of super emulator?

Anyway, the release date of All you Need is Kill is set for March 12, 2014.
