The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is the last film appearance of the late Heath Ledger, Oscar winner for The Dark Knight. Moviegoer Iszaham pointed us to this footage shown at the occasion of the Cannes Film festival:

Plot of the movie:
“In the present day, immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) leads a travelling theatre troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession. Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Andrew Garfield), and a dwarf, Percy (Verne Troyer), Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor’s daughter (Lily Cole). The troupe, which is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell), embark through parallel worlds to rescue the girl.”

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is Director Terry Gilliam’s upcoming fantasy movie. Heath Ledger had a lead role as the conman Tony, but he passed away in the midst of production.

But Terry Gilliam had the great idea to use a plot trick to finish the movie to honor the work done by Heath Ledger. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law pay tribute to the actor by filling in for the remaining scenes Heath Ledger didn’t have the time to film.

Cinematographer Nicola Pecorini worked on the film and he published a nice picture on his site (here) thanks to which we may see for the first time Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law in their respective versions of Tony, the role they’re sharing with Heath Ledger:

Too bad I don’t read Korean! Shall tryt o get a translation to better understand this poster of the Doctor Parnassus movie.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is the last movie Heath Ledger was working on before he passed away. Only half of the movie was wrapped when the sad event happened. But Director Terry Giliam wanted to honor the actor’s work, so he has managed to keep Heath Ledger’s scenes by using a plot twist. As a result the role of Tony the conman is shared between Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law.

A first teaser trailer has been released for the Imaginarium of Doctor Panassus, the last movie to star Heath Ledger before he passed away. Director Gilliam is able to finish the movie with Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law who will replace Heath Ledger in his role thanks to a plot trick.
