Thanks to RoadsideFlix here’s a first preview clip of Mr. Holmes, the upcoming crime mystery drama movie starring Gandalf er, Magneto, er, sorry I mean Ian McKellen:

“Set in 1947, MR. HOLMES follows a long-retired Sherlock Holmes (Ian McKellen), who lives in a sleepy village outside of London with his housekeeper Mrs Munro (Laura Linney) and her amateur-sleuthing son (Milo Parker).
With his legendary mental powers on the wane and minus his sidekick Watson, Holmes becomes haunted by an unsolved case from 50 years ago where he remembers only fragments: a confrontation with an angry husband and a secret bond with his beautiful but unstable wife.”
Sherlock Holmes is really old in that movie… I guess Alzheimer’s or plain ol’ dementia is around the corner waiting for him…
The film is directed by Bill Condon.
