National Treasure 2 Book Of Secrets Page 47

Page 47 of the Books of Secret - National Treasure 2I just watched National Treasure 2. The trailer did not convince me to watch the movie last December but had the occasion to watch the film yesterday. And except a lengthy start National Treasure 2 progressively kicks into high gear with some impressive scenes.

The idea of a Book of Secrets, a book kept by US presidents for US presidents’ eyes only, is mesmerizing even if a bit farfetched.

Who would resist to having a look to a book that is said to contains the answers for the biggest coverups in American history after all!

But what about this mysterious page 47 of the book of secrets? Does any of you have an idea? Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) said at the end of National Treasure 2 that Page 47 is ‘life-altering’…

That promises a lot for National Treasure 3!

I am now impatient to know more about this third National treasure movie. Let’s hope that Jon Turteltaub and Nicolas cage will bring some incredible surprise from the page 47 of the book of secrets!

Maybe are they going to link the All Seeing Eye – the pyramid on the U.S. One Dollar Bill – to some mysterious treasure in Egypt. What do you think?

Update: let’s have a look to the latest news about –> National Treasure 3.

It refers to the legendary Fountain of Youth, searched for in Florida by Ponce de Leon.

The Fountain of youth seems to be the rumor but as one comment pointed out, If Disney episodes goes it was reference it was done in Pirates. Now beleive it Area 51 because if you pause it on the dvd at the phone picture the Ben Gates takes and zoom in you will see clear as day “51” but it could be 51 pictures who knows?

UPDATE: The Page 47 of National Treasure 2is actually involves a quest to find The lost colony of Roanoke, North Carolina ( the colony that disappeared in 1585) . The thought is that the colony was the “holding place” of the grandest treasure of all (even better than the city of gold). The treasure has yet to be reveald but it is supposed to be the best of all time. The idea was to originally use the idea of Area 51 but that came of too Sci-Fi for disney so they opted for something more mysterious and more exciting. Disney also wanted to avoid anything that was similar to Independance Day. This information comes from a source who is believed to be an assistant writer of the National Treasure franchise.

      Wow,
You definitely sound like you know what you are talking about. This sounds like an amazing idea for the next movie. I hope this is what they decide on using!

  4. Ben gates

i think that page 47 holds the secret of the lost army of cambyses. winch was an army of about 50,000 which was sent out by the Persian pharaoh to destroy the oracle at Siwa. But on there way the army got lost in a huge sand storm and was never seen again

  5. dan

I heard that it discusses how Bacon is actually good for you. If that is the truth, that is life altering for me

  6. brantlee

This is the best movie yet for national treasure it would be really cool if they made National Treasure 3!

  7. Pat MaGroin

i think that ben gates and the president will go on an adventure for charlie the unicorn and pat his groin until he releases magical white treasures, until the president turns evil and begins taking them for himself and drowns in the white treasure as a door closes that is letting the treasure out, yay, can’t wait until the third one!!!!!!!!!!!!! or maybe he gets a jetpack and flies with agent 47 from hitman until they are shot down in russia and forced to eat their own feet until they are found by the S.A.S and he will bite his fingerprints off so he can’t be identified, and charlie the unicorn will still be releasing magic treasures of white glop.

    THANKS FOR READIN’

  8. MANGLE MCFUNGON

Hahahha.. that’s a great theory there Pat! I highly doubt that the thought of the president turning against gates will be likely, and a unicorn? out of all types of treasure you think of that? I guess we all have our opinions, I honestly believe that Queen Victoria, who will be found out to have been a prostitute on the side, ( its true, read about it), will have had a child named Ben and it will turn out to be Ben Gates but he was adopted and he will come to realize he has aids from being born from his mother who also had it. Its a great theory, and once he figures this out, he will go on a mad rampage and begin eating babies of all sorts, and find the treasure after killing his whole family.

Nonetheless, Pat, your theory is very unlikely, and your treasure almost sounds like semen! That’s just me, but hey, we’ll see!

P.S. Don’t ever talk to magic horses with bananas.

  9. unanomus

    Fountain of youth hell yeah

  10. Brendan Duffy

The quote from the movie says that page 47 is life altering. In 1947 Roswell occurred. My guess is that it has something to do with this.

  11. ninjutsu

Maybe “page 47″ goes into how to find access to heaven from earth… well no, that’s too Da Vinci code but i like the “fountain of youth” guess, that could be good. Or maybe it tells of how there is another more advanced human race on another planet and we have one of them. shit, who knows lol. I know I can’t wait for the third National Treasure movie to come out. I love this series movie series.

  12. Gman

I think that Ben and company will be looking for the lost city of Atlantis because the president will want to use Atlantis’ great source of power to end world problems (global warming, hunger, etc.)

  13. Zandel

I believe myself that It could be in reference to Atlantis. But at the same time, I believe Atlantis to not have been sunk in the ocean. Instead… The legend of Laputa… the Floating City… Could actually be Atlantis. A search for Laputa.

  14. Whistle

If you look at the story lines for the past two movies, they have each followed a major war in U.S. History. The first one had to deal with the Revolutionary War, and the second about the Civil War. The next logical war would be WWI but i find it hard to believe they could tie in a treasure from WWI maybe WWII?? It definitely needs to be U.S. based or it loses all credibility in its title “National Treasure”.

  15. Treasure Nut

I think the second installment has laid more clues to the plot behind National Treasure 3 than first thought. Page 47 is the obvious one but early in National Treasure 2 when Harvey Keitel is handed the newspaper by the other Feds showing Ben Gates is in the news again, he makes a statement asking what’s he found now… Atlantis? Have to wonder!

  16. Shirai

I’ll go with the lost colony of Roanoke… it’s really puzzling how the colony got lost, or how the colonist disappeared… or the fountain of youth… the fountain of youth may link to Anglo-Spanish war… which England made the colony on the new world called Roanoke..

  17. mugwump

they will search for lost presidential candidates campaign promises and i promise they will never find some of them

  18. arimus

i think that it might have something to do with WWII because i heard that there were OSS agents trying to stop the Japanese from stealing trillions of dollars worth of gold and that supposedly the carrier transporting it was sunk by an agent so it might have something to do with that. though it wouldn’t surprise me if it is Atlantis though they did that already or it could be the fountain of youth. it would be funny if they ran into captain sparrow.

  19. Jimmy

I think Shirai is right I think that the people that are exploring the Gold City in the black hills will find something and then say that it’s a fountain and page 47 says the exact location of the fountain of youth is where they found that fountain and then they’re gonna find a clue to a Anglo-Spanish war site and find another clue to Spain and find another clue leading to the Roanoke Colony island site and then they’re gonna figure out that to keep the Spanish from getting a $1,000,000 (which today would be worth a trillion dollars.) they took it to an island and built a colony around it to protect it and while that dude was getting more supplies the Spanish raided the colony and killed all the settlers and destroyed all the buildings but the treasure wasn’t there so they go to find the treasure and in the end find it

  20. schlagmeister

I think it is going to involve Roanoke… the pirated ships that were supposed to land here or even the Illuminati secret society that is rumored to “control every throne” and every major world event. they were supposedly founded in 1776 just 2 months before the us became independent from Britain. alot of notable people are rumored to be members such as Winston Churchill, and David Rockefeller. it would be an interesting theory to explore

  21. annonymous person

I think that the Lost Colony Of Roanoke or Atlantis would be the best out of all the theories. This is for a few reasons-
    1. POTC (Pirates Of The Carribean) is doing the Fountain of Youth and National Treasure can do better than that. I mean they’ve gone well so far.
    2. Atlantis quite appealing and I wanna know how the hell it’s tied to Easter island .even though I love myths, legends, urban legends etc.- it isn’t making me vote for these things.
    3. There are many possible theories for what happened at Roanoke back in 1588 but 3 out of 5 main theories are very plausible and make sense and it would be good to see how they use these rumors to make the movie (same for Atlantis).

That’s my opinion so don’t abuse me like hell. You all had your opinion so let me be.

  22. Scott

I think the clue is at the beginning of the film where the FBI agent says that Ben Gates is in the news again and he says “What did he do, find Atlantis?”

    Just a thought

  23. Aubree

I think that the Atlantis idea might be a little too hard for them to find, whether or not it sank to the bottom of the ocean. Now the Lost Colony of Roanoke, North Carolina would be interesting to see… well, I would just love to see anything that National Treasure has to offer

  24. Riley

I agree with Whistle up there – they’re going to have to follow with the whole “National” Treasure deal. If they don’t, no one’s going to want to watch it. And depending on how long the Book was, we can judge the time period. How many pages does he flip afterwards, if any? How many pages between that and the key point of NT2? That’s something else to consider, because the pages would go in chronological order.

  25. among many, one

if you look at the past 2 movies, they’re all REALISTIC! So I think Atlantis and the Fountain of Youth are out of the question. I would love to see the lost colony of Roanoke be the main topic in the movie but where’s the treasure in that? Maybe since the movies follow in order chronologically, it will be about Hitler hiding the treasure of Germany before he killed himself? All I know for sure is I can’t wait for National Treasure 3!

What about in NT1 where Abigail Chase says “Did Bigfoot take it?” IDK… i’m just spitballin

  26. dale

Why would the president ask Ben to look at page 47 when he has access to the book himself and how would he knows exactly what page to look for if he did not want Ben and company to check it out – therefore National Treasure 3.
It must be a us treasure as the franchise suggests and a treasure does not necessarily have to be gold or wealth.
Life-altering is the key and my candidate is the Philadelphia experiment. It was definitely life-altering for the navy seamen involved.
Check it out -experiments supposedly conducted by us govt during WWII involving Einstein’s unified field theory.

  27. Joe

I highly doubt that it is about finding The Fountain of Youth because sources say that is what Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is about because at the end of Pirates, Jack Sparrow is looking at a map to the fountain of youth. so i doubt disney would make 2 movies about finding the fountain of youth.

  28. Hersehy

I think that atlantis would be a very good one to do next. And someone ahead of me said that the first 2 were very REALISTIC to atlantis is out of the picture. Atlantis is just as much of a myth as the City of Gold. All of these are myths that none truly know if they are true. So I am really hoping that Atlantis is their next stop.

  29. Meli2012

Many forget that it was Thomas GATES who was assigned to go to ROANOKE to search for the Last Colony of Roanoke. There is much amiss about the survival of the colony..Sir William Strachey and John Smith among others wrote of the missing Roanoke Colonist among the tribes along the James and Chowan Rivers.
Even rumors among Jamestown. How fascinating… Would love to discuss.. :D

When is this movie to come out?

  30. j

i have no idea about historical stuff, but logically that book of secrets is written by presidents, so it has to be chronological based on each president’s experiences during his tenure. when they were flipping through it if you just see whether page 47 was before or after the clue about the resolute desk you can get somewhat of an idea. i’d think roswell, wwi, etc are all relatively late in the history of the US and therefore it should be something a bit more dated? just my two cents

  31. Meli2012

You do forget your history. George Washington was the First President of the United States of America. The Colony Triangle made up of Williamsburg, York and Jamestowne. Thomas Gates was assigned to go and search for the Lost Colony of Roanoke.

The Lost Colony of Roanoke was never truly lost. Even Jamestowne knew they were along the rivers, and in tribes.
You also have to remember that 20 yeares passed between John’s White’s return to England during the War with the Spanish Armada. How exciting that perhaps one day, those theories can be dissolved.

Atlantis is a interesting debate..being that Sir Francis Bacon had his own theories…the hint of masonic paradise among the Bermuda Triangle… hmm

  32. 2cents

roanoke; maybe, area 51; not likely, atlantis; possibly. but what you thought it may be will probably end up being something you all have not even thought of! I’m not going to comment or speculate cause I already know what’s on page 47 and it’s only the tip of the iceberg ;)

  33. Meli2012

Could someone please elaborate more about Page 47.
    True 2cents..
If anything to do with the Gates families, it would certainly take them back to the New World… of course there were many things that were brought to the New World back then. All quest were and are, all men’s endeavor.

As far as President George Washington being linked to a great mystery of his adventures along the Rappahannock River where he grew up, there is great mystery and stories of the The Lost Colony of Roanoke. Especially of those out of Jamestown where they knew the lost colonists were alive among the tribes. Thomas Gates was sent to look for these colonists.
The Colony Triangle was Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown. The Triangle was also significant among masons… including President George Washington.

*sigh* it is not about the Fountain of Youth, Aliens, or Atlantis. These are all very interesting topics, but the movies are based off of treasure. And for the next story line they will be looking at Roanoke island, and a supposed treasure associated with it. Although… Atlantis and the fountain of youth could possibly be part of later movies. That is, if they ever do anything besides treasure. But there is definitely a large possibility that one of the later movies will contain these themes because of the overall mystery to them. Then again, the idea of the Fountain of Youth is almost too far fetched to put in a movie like this. Especially since if they found the fountain it would basically make every man, woman, and child immortal. So really the only one of those three themes that is even possible is the City of Atlantis. And that one is almost definitely going to be used.

  35. DWALL

Any and all of your thoughts could be correct well except for the unicorn and evil president. But anyways, it will be a great movie.

  36. Meli2012

    I agree…The Unicorn is another story.. ;D

  37. Chabu

There was a Monica Lewinskys phone number on page 47.

  38. xevoz47

I think its going be about the Roanoke island, as the colony was lost so long ago. the thing is know-one know where the village could have gone. it just up and disappeared, if you look back at your history the only real clue to what could have happened is the “new” grey eyed Indians.

  39. Meli2012

    Mysteries are due to secrecy..

    Sir Francis Bacon

  40. Me

I still don’t understand why the president has to ask Ben to look at page 47 when the president is the only person on the planet that has access to the book in the first place. The book is for the president’s eyes only!

  41. J M

47 suggests 1947 — the year of the Roswell Crash. Area 51 has always been a pop culture designed as a distraction from the true location nowhere near Nevada or wright-part AFB either. The mystery IS definitely life altering in every respect.

  42. Impresme

What was the name of the book in the movie

  43. p.c.

I would go with the “ROANOKE”… because its more related to “THE PAGE 47″…. and it was assigned to Thomas Gates which is also a family of Ben Gates, and Ben would like to continue the journey of Thomas…. :)

  44. p.c.

and also Atlantis because that was the Chief of the FBI said when Ben was on the newspaper…….

  45. cb

indiana jones did the holy grail ,cup of christ….pirates of the carrabian did the fountain of youth…we have had a journey to the centre of the earth , also on the mysterious island ,we have had atlantis and nemo’s nautilus….something related to the masons ,possibly the roanoke idea, but what could be on page 47 that maybe would be life altering ,the possibility of an invisible island ( roanoke ) where its inhabitants live forever….who ,knows??????????????…..

  46. George Hanover

No, no, no. We have no way of knowing what, IF anything, they’ll do with this. I think it is a freak-out tease because Disney will be WAY busy doing the next STAR WARS film which they have already begun. I do think about this silly sideline of the plot. Consider: after all this, the president asks Gates to look at a page in the book the damned president can see whenever he likes. That means the president who knows Gates by reputation NEEDS Gates to see that page, probably to help the government. Now, what would be in front of the president everyday but he cannot decode it or whatever, but he knows if he solved it our lives would be altered? That sound like the lost colony of Roanoke? (Hello, Croatoan, duhh!)

  47. insta buzz

Its called NATIONAL Treasure. Atlantis is not american. Nor is the fountain of youth. Roanoke is the best idea I have heard on here.

  48. mm

What if the floating city of laputa was really the ship from the Philadelphia experiment that traveled back in time.
