New in Town is an upcoming romantic comedy movie directed by Jonas Elmer. The film stars Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr.. New In Town should be released on January 30, 2009.
This January
New In Town
Plot:
“Lucy Hill (Renee Zellweger) is an ambitious, up and coming executive living in Miami. She loves her shoes, she loves her cars and she loves climbing the corporate ladder. When she is offered a temporary assignment in a town in Minnesota - in the middle of nowhere - to restructure a manufacturing plant, she jumps at the opportunity, knowing that a big promotion is close at hand. What begins as a straight forward job assignment becomes a life changing experience as Lucy discovers greater meaning in her life and most unexpectedly, the man of her dreams (Harry Connick, Jr.).”
A sophisticated girl from the city, newly arrived to a small country town, gets in love with a local countrified chap: that’s cliché! And the the plot is set in Minnesota, but the movie was actually filmed in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Canada…
But Renee Zellweger looks so sweet in her role that one can but forgive the flaws of the movie New In Town.
Director Robert Luketic (legally Blonde) is bringing us a new romantic comedy movie titled The Ugly Truth. It is starring Gerard Butler, Katherine Heigl, Cheryl Hines and Bonnie Somerville. The Ugly Truth movie should be released on April 3, 2009.
Here below the first official trailer of The Ugly Truth:

“A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.” (Source: IMDb)
Cast:
- Katherine Heigl as the romantically challenged morning show producer;
- Gerard Butler as her chauvinistic correspondent;
- Cheryl Hines as a co-anchor of the morning show.
What about you like it on top? Right, some easy jokes in The Ugly Truth, but one should not refrain from laughing! Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler are a good match. The Ugly Truth is a nice movie to start Springs before entering in the summer of love!
;-P

Trust is a dynamic variable int he world of spies. And it’s even more explosive when love gets in!
The duo Clive Owen / Julia Roberts is rather appealing. And judging from this trailer of Duplicity the movie nicely integrates a comic dimension! Duplicity seems to be a win!

Plot:
“It’s the summer of 1987 and James Brennan, a recent college graduate is looking for a job. He finds the local amusement park and learns it’s the perfect course to prepare him for the real world.” (Source: Wikipedia)
Summer Jobs give a glimpse of real life to teenagers, that’s a good thing. But well, real life just s**ks sometimes…
By the way Kristen Stewart looks really cute in the movie Adventureland, much more beautiful than in Twilight actually!

Ben Stiller is going back to the Museum in 2009. Indeed following the success of Night At The Museum in 2006, a movie sequel has been under works. This second opus is titled Night at the Museum 2 Battle of the Smithsonian. The film, directed by Shawn Levy, is starring Ben Stiller, Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, Hank Azaria, Bill Hader, Ricky Gervais, Christopher Guest and Steve Coogan. It should be released on Memorial Day on May 22, 2009.
Here below a first look at the movie Night at the Museum 2 Battle of the Smithsonian:
Night At The Museum 2 Movie Pictures
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)
Plot:
“When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museum. The centrepiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby red slippers and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair.” (Source: Wikipedia)
The movie Night At The Museum 2 will mix not adventure and comedy but also culture, to make a really entertaining movie. I wasn’t found of the first movie, but since Tropic Thunder I have become a real fan of Ben Stiller. So you can count me in for Night at the Museum 2 Battle of the Smithsonian!

Fired Up is an upcoming comedy movie directed by Will Gluck. It is starring the duo Nicholas D’Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen. You may recognize Nicholas D’Agosto: he played the role of West Rosen in the TV series Heroes, the the flying boy who hit on Claire. Fired Up should be released on March 20, 2009.
Here below the red-band trailer of Fired Up :
200 girls: screw football let’s go cheer!
Fired Up
Plot:
“Shawn Colfax (Nicholas D’Agosto) and Nick Brady (Eric Christian Olsen), the stars of the Gerald R. Ford High School football team, are dreading the prospect of another summer at football camp. After Nick hatches a scheme for the two to join their school’s cheerleaders at cheer camp instead, they find themselves awash in a sea of gorgeous young women. The guys are having the time of their lives until Shawn falls for Carly (Sarah Roemer), the beautiful head cheerleader who is very suspicious of their motives. To win Carly over, the boys must come up with some surprising new moves to prove Shawn’s intentions before the all-important cheer competition finals.” (Source: Coming Soon)
Still trying to understand why this Fired Up movie trailer is rated R… To my viewpoint it hardly deserves any red band… The MPAA ratings are so dumb sometimes!
Anyway, the movie Fired Up is no masterpiece, but it could be a good laugh for a few bucks.

Race to Witch Mountain is an upcoming sci-fi movie, remake of the original 1975 film Escape to Witch Mountain. This new version, using a script by Matt Lopez, is a modern re-imagining of the 1975 movie. The film is directed by Andy Fickman and is starring Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Alexander Ludwig, Ciaran Hinds, and Carla Gugino. Race to Witch Mountain should be released in March 2009.
A bootleg trailer of Race To Witch Mountain has leaked online via Trailer Addict:

Prepare for an adventure that’s out of this world.
RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN

“A UFO expert enlists the help of a cab driver (Dwayne Johnson The Rock) to protect two siblings (AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig) with paranormal powers from the clutches of Ciaran Hinds and his organization who want to use the kids for their nefarious plans.” (Source: IMDb)
An interesting sci-fi movie, even if Dwayne Johnson is quite unlikely in the role of a taxi driver turned nanny…
:)
Director Tim Blake Nelson has been working on an upcoming titled Leaves of Grass which is based on a script he wrote himself. This upcoming comedic thriller movie that should is starring Edward Norton, Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, and Keri Russell. Leaves of Grass should be released in 2009.
Plot:
“An Ivy League professor (Norton) is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown, where his twin brother (Norton), a small-time pot grower, has concocted a scheme to take down a local drug lord (Dreyfuss).” (Source: IMDb)
Here below a first look at Edward Norton in the movie Leaves of Grass, in which he plays the role of twins:
I think Edward Norton had no problem playing a dual role as the two identical twin brothers (one of whom is an Ivy League philosophy professor and the other is a brilliant marijuana growing career criminal): he’s got the spirit of Fight Club and has been able to tame the green beast Hulk after all!
