Star Trek Movie

If you’ve been mesmerized by the Star Trek trailer recently released then I strongly recommend to have a look to this behind-the-scenes clip showing the movie set of Star Trek (filmed by Fox 11 LA, back in February 2008):

When you put in perspective the work done to bring this Star Trek movie to theaters you can be but even more fascinated by J.J. Abrams’ movie.

Looks like those two pictures from the movie Star Trek are related to the two sets seen in the behind-the-scenes clip:

Star Trek crew on the deck of the USS Enterprise - Star Trek movie

A geeky Trekkie has managed to recenter the bootleg trailer of Star Trek. It won’t make you cry, but it could make you wet your pants if you’re a hardcore trekker:

I like the scene with Uhura half naked (well almost, still got her bras), Star Trek is really hot by now!

If you don’t remember what the original actors of Star Trek were like, just compare with the cast of Star Trek the movie:

The movie Star Trek will be released in May 2009. Can’t wait!

A picture of the USS Enterprise from the upcoming Star Trek movie directed by J.J Abrams has been unveiled by Paramount via EW Pop Watch (here):

Star Trek Movie - USS Enterprise First Look

J.J. Abrams’ USS Enterprise is rather close to the original one. He made indeed great deal of respecting the source material:

If you’re going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change. The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you’re going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?

A new batch of pictures from the upcoming movie Star Trek, directed by Cloverfield director producer J.J. Abrams, have been unveiled to increase further the mounting buzz preceding the release of the first full Star Trek trailer in November:

Also, slashfilm is recommending an interesting article about Star Trek at Entertainment Weekly:

Star Trek’s time-travel plot is set in motion when a Federation starship, the USS Kelvin, is attacked by a vicious Romulan (Eric Bana) desperately seeking one of the film’s heroes. From there, the film then brings Kirk and Spock center stage and tracks the origins of their friendship and how they became officers aboard the Enterprise. In fact, the movie shows how the whole original series crew came together: McCoy (Karl Urban), Uhura (Zoë Saldana), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekov (Anton Yelchin). The adventure stretches from Earth to Vulcan, and yes, it does find a way to have Nimoy appearing in scenes with at least one of the actors on our cover — and maybe both. The storytelling is newbie-friendly, but it slyly assimilates a wide range of Trek arcana, from doomed Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood) to Sulu’s swordsmanship to classic lines like, ”I have been, and always shall be, your friend.” More ambitiously, the movie subversively plays with Trek lore — and those who know it. The opening sequence, for example, is an emotionally wrenching passage that culminates with a mythic climax sure to leave zealots howling ”Heresy!” But revisionism anxiety is the point. ”The movie,” Lindelof says, ”is about the act of changing what you know.
(See the full article at EW here)

Maybe a Romulan vessel, with Eric Bana as Nero in command, goes back into the past to get rid of Kirk (Chris Pine) before he becomes the Captain of the starship USS Enterprise… Will have to wait till may 2009 to see Star Trek in theaters, but fortunately, there will be at least a Star Trek trailer in front of Quantum of Solace.

The Star Team team is on the bridge of the starship USS Enterprise

Still more than six months before the release of J.J. Abrams’ take on Star Trek. But we may expect a first full length Star Trek trailer in front of Quantum of Solace. A few pictures from the movie Star Trek have been released by Paramount to warm up the fans and reignite the buzz around J.J Abrams’ Star Trek movie:

Star Trek on the Cover of Entertainment Weekly

Among the pictures an early look at the cover of the next Entertainment Weekly magazine which will feature Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto who play respectively Jame T. Kirk and the Vulcan Spock. Both are a bit effeminate on this picture: they are not as manly as the original actors William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy… But shall make do with them!
