Wolverine 2 – Wolverine Sequel
The first Wolverine is maybe not yet out but get ready for Wolverine 2. In a recent interview given to MTV (here) Hugh Jackman, who plays the role Logan aka Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, has talked about the direction a Wolverine sequel may take:

Below a transcript where he talks about what should be done in the Wolverine movie sequel:
“The most intriguing thing to me was the Japan story. I love the Japan story. I wanted to do the Japan story from around X-Men 2. Can you just picture Wolverine in Japan with the triads and the samurai? It’s just genius. Comedically and dramatically, I thought, ‘This is awesome!’ But how can you do that before you explain his origins? If we tried to mix the origin and Japan together, it wouldn’t do justice to either. So you can tell by the answer where I’d like it to go.”

I totally agree with Hugh Jackman: the Japan plot sounds damned appealing! I really want this japan story to go through for the Wolverine sequel.

Just do them in the respectful manner they deserve, read the damn books please.To many movies have been screwed up because someone did not read the books well enough.
Reminds me of the trash that came out of Lucas arts with the prequels. Good job changing all the characters but one. I’m sure no one will notice. Yet another convincing slap in the face from the completely underachieving sickness that permeates western society. David Benioff has every single wolverine comic every written and this is the trash that we get from the guy that claims to be the biggest wolverine fan ever… Just because a couple million kids will force their weak minded parents to take them out to the movies for 40-50 bucks doesn’t make it good. David you should be ashamed of yourself… Stan lee… how could you let this happen…
I’m pretty sure I’ll like the Wolverine movie. I love all of the x-men films, plus in this one they have finally added in gambit and that’s something i’ve been waiting for ages, gambit is my all time favorite and I kinda want to see how he relates to wolverine’s origin, in my opinion this is gonna be a great movie.
The Japan story would rock! Get the Silver Samuri in there also! I hope they don’t screw Deadpool up too much, he’s a great character also.

Well, if the first installment of Wolverine is a success at Box-Office… they’re absolutely going to do the second installment of Wolverine. Would be great that the movie takes place in Japan.

What a load of crap from hughsy, mate if you and your director mate havn’t read the comics then just say so. Davey Benneoff should be shot if he really is a fan and owned all the original comics. He butchered the story to a point of it being unrecogniseable to the comic fans. Theirs a big difference between a twist and a butchery. You might as well say that robot chickens send up of star wars is just a twist to the original storyline.

UM in the interview Hugh Jackman said Triads and Samurai… um the triads are Chinese he’s thinking of the Yakuza
Riddick apart from the names of the characters ( even though half of them were never in the first 10 years of the comic and certainly not apart of his origins ) and the fact that he had adamantium put into him in canada. What else did this movie get right?
I would LOVE for them to make a Wolverine movie, starring Hugh Jackman, of course, based on the popular comic issue……

Really, relax. You haven’t seen the movie therefore you have no way of knowing how it will turn out. You have no right to judge anyone on whether or not they’re someone’s biggest fan. Lay off. Be open minded. The movie may surprize you. Also remember that they cannot keep everything identical to the comic books. They have a range of time to keep and can’t add in every single detail. And as for changing the characters, if you’re talking about the actors sometimes it can’t be helped. Now chill out, go watch the movie, and THEN pass judgement because right now you sound like a five year old throwing a fit about a saturday morning cartoon. Just saying.
