Independence Day 2 Movie

Independence Day 2 MovieThere could be a movie sequel to Independence Day 2 if Director Roland Emmerich finds enough support. Indeed, he’s been talking about a potential Independence Day 2 movie to MTV:

Independence Day 2 Trailer

“Dean Devlin and I are still set to make a sequel likely because we’ve found some sort of idea and we approached FOX and FOX has not quite figured out how to incorporate Dean’s and my deal, and Will’s (Smith) deal. Will wants to do it in some sort of a package they can live with. So it’s just been in negations now since forever, and naturally FOX says ‘Why don’t you do it without Will Smith?’ I said Will is essential for us, for this movie and actually for the audience too. And, so, it’s in limbo and lately the studios are fighting. Like gross players, and Will is a gross player and is probably the only gross player right now who’s worth his gross. So we’ll see what happens. I would love to do it.”

Director Roland Emmerich

I’d be thrilled by a new Independence Day movie. But what could be the plot of a sequel? A new wave of aliens coming to avenge those who died in the explosion of the alien mothership that was destroyed by Will Smith’s Trojan horse? Or maybe it would be about a few aliens surviving the final counter-attack and who have since infiltrated our world?

Any guess about the plot of Independence Day 2? Any advice for Roland Emmerich?

    I liked the first movie a lot…

But unlike a lot of movies, the first Independence day had a great “closure” to it. A true sense of finality.

Any remake would have to have some really fantastic writing and seriously good character / plot development.

Otherwise, it will fall way short. in my opinion, regardless if Will Smith is in it or not.

I like how Dean Devlin & Roland Emmerich have rolled out these homages to 50’s movies (Big Bug = Eight Legged Freaks, End of the World = The Day After Tomorrow, Invaders from Space = Independence Day, Godzilla)…perhaps this sequel could assume that it was not the entire alien population that were poised in orbit, waiting to “catch that cold”…surely they could come back at us (considering the time required at warped speed to travel from their “dying planet”) armed with a state of the art firewall on their system…(or perhaps they opted for Apple instead of Windows)…seriously I am sure there is plenty of scope to keep this going for another movie!

Yes, they did destroy the mothership and quickly destroyed the smaller ones. Why not starting the movie off destroying the rest of the aliens but the aliens also brought a secret weapon with them. If the aliens can’t have this planet no one will, Will Smith has to find the secret weapon and destroy it. Since there no mothership the aliens force fields are disable and can be destroyed by our weapons. It would be and all out fight fest and our world hangs in the balance.

The only thing that would link Will’s character to a new mission is the ship. Get another one, or better yet, make one, and go after the rest of them / the inevitable backup that was on the way. It’s a whole planet. I wouldn’t give up either if I were an alien. Push on guys! Maybe you can win one this time! Let’s have a realistic show down and take out the humans.

this plot of the second movie sounds awesome!=) maybe they should do as the humans hunting down the last survivors of the alien race the managed to survive. maybe they should do it as the aliens are called nogrians and that the nogrian survivors off earth returned to earth to wipeout whats left of humanity and avenge the lost of their brothers. also Dean Devlin should put in another alien race that comes along to kill all the nogrians and the humans! okay; he he well those are my only guess’s. tell me if there is any UPDATE on the movie okay

I think the sequel goes as follows after they have destroyed the alien mothership and disabled their defense systems the surviving aliens escaped destruction and fled earth they figured out how they were defeated and this time they came back with a vengeance to not only destroy earth but hunt down the two humans that planted the virus into their last mothership this time they are fully prepared and unfortunately one of those heroes must die (either Will Smith or Jerry Goldberg)

I would love to see a sequel to the first one. The one main thing is, the first one came out in 1996, 15 years ago. So, if a sequel was made, how would you incorporate the 15 year gap from the first one. I also agree with the director, that Will Smith and Jeff Goldbloom would be a crucial part to the sequel. Without those 2, the movie would be a bust. I have read some of the ideas that other people have wrote and they are all potentially good ideas. My idea would be that now it is 15 years later, Will’s character and Jeff’s character are still good friends and keep in touch. Now here’s the clincher. The alien ship that they used in the first movie, to plant the trojan horse, was taken back to Area 51 in the bunker. What nobody knew was, the alien ship has a homing beacon in it, that signaled their home planet of the distress and another mother ship was deployed to Earth. There inlays the 15 year gap. That’s how long it would take for the distress call to reach the alien planet and for them to get to Earth. I have a lot more to tell, so if you are interested Mr. Roland Emmerich, please send me an email and i will be more than happy to share my ideas with you. I am an avid movie watcher and love coming up with ideas for sequels to movies. Like I said, I would love to see a sequel, but it has to be done right, or it will not work. I’d love to chat with you on this, if you are still interested on possibly making a sequel. Thank you and hope to here from you soon. Independenca Day 2 is not dead yet. We can make it happen. Please don’t give up.
