A first official teaser trailer has been released online for Dune,, the new movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s cult science-fiction novel:
Plot synopsis: “In the far future of humanity, Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) accepts stewardship of the dangerous desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, the only source of the most valuable substance in the universe, the spice, a drug which extends human life, provides superhuman levels of thought, and makes foldspace travel possible. Though Leto knows the opportunity is an intricate trap set by his enemies, he takes his Bene Gesserit concubine Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), young son and heir Paul (Timothée Chalamet), and most trusted advisers to Arrakis. Leto takes control of the spice mining operation, which is made perilous by the presence of giant sandworms. A bitter betrayal leads Paul and Jessica to the Fremen, natives of Arrakis who live in the deep desert.”
Paul Atreides is whispering the Litany Against Fear, a litany said to help focus one’s mind in times of peril.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

There’s a new movie adaptation of Dune, the cult epic science-fiction novel series written Frank Herbet and his son Brian Herbet, ahead of us! Legendary Pictures bought the film rights a few months ago. And they just announced that Director Denis Villeneuve (who helmed Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049) will be in charge of the project.
I’m fond of the book series. But I think the 1984 movie adaptation, though entertaining, didn’t do justice to the series, so I definitely welcome this new adaptation! Let’s hope the film won’t disappoint.
The film has yet to get an official release date.
Stay tuned with us for more details about the movie Dune. :)
