The Wachowski brothers must appreciate South Korean pop star Rain, because after enrolling him as Taejo in Speed Racer, they’re now giving a real lead role to the Asian actor in a movie they’re co-producing with Joel Silver. Rain is indeed the lead cast of Ninja Assassin, an upcoming action movie packed with martial arts!

Ninja Assassin Movie with Rain

Rain is working damn hard to fit into his Ninja outfit, watch Rain in this training session for Ninja Assassin (it’s a fight choreography with the 87 Eleven crew, a team of expert stuntmen):

Director James McTeigue is at the helm of Ninja Assassin. And besides Rain, the film is staring the pretty Naomie Harris and Rick Yune. The movie could be released during the first half of 2009.

It’s a real metamorphosis for Rain following his hard work and thanks to some make-up, he deserves to be the hero of Ninja Assassin:

Plot:
“Raizo (Rain) is one of the world’s deadliest assassins, having been kidnapped as a child and raised by the Ozunu Clan, believed by the world to be a myth. When Raizo’s friend is executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. He later reemerges, seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more. The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo.
