THE SEVENTH SON

When darkness falls, the son will rise.

Judging from the trailer it looks like an entertaining movie, but can’t say am that impatient to see it… I mean, it doesn’t feel like The Seventh Son will bring anything new to the genre.

Well got to say looks ok but, it has nothing what so ever to do with the wardstone chronicles which I thought this film was being based on

I have read all the books and this trailer to me does not match what the first book was about.

Ummmm… wasn’t this supposed to be based on The Spook’s Apprentice by Joseph Delaney? This looks NOTHING like it. Where are the pits, and evil queen I don’t think so.

At some point some moron went
“you know what this needs, it needs the bone witch to be so caked in makeup that she could slam her face into a wall without an issue, and sex appeal? please who doesnt find ripping people bones out and using them for dark magic sexy? i mean it just flows so well!”
and then he wasnt fired!, sad times

As a film it looks okay, although I’m guessing the factor that will ruin it is that it looks like they’ve tried to do way too much with it – how so many films fail. But to say it has anything to do with the Wardstone Chronicles is just an insult to all who’ve read them. It has a seventh son, it has witches. That’s about all that they’ve taken. Saying “Inspired by” instead of “Based on” doesn’t make me feel any better about it. Nothing like the books, and the books were fantastic so I guess it’s going to be nothing like fantastic.
