The Young Messiah Movie Trailer

The first official trailer of The Young Messiah has been released online, you may watch it below:

THE YOUNG MESSIAH
Plot:
“At the age of 7, when Jesus (Adam Greaves-Neal) returns from Egypt to his home in Nazareth with his family (Vincent Walsh as Joseph and Sara Lazzaro as Mary), he discovers the truth about his life.
Told from his childhood perspective, it follows young Jesus as he grows into his religious identity”

Damn, Mary was just fourteen when she got pregnant… So if Jesus is really God’s son, does that make God a pervert abusing a young girl?

Release date: March 11, 2016.

The Young Messiah looks great, but I wanted to bring your attention that there was a 2 part mini series, A Child Called Jesus, released on TV November of 1989. It was directed by Franco Rossi and I thought it was great. I had taped it originally on VHS tape, but a few years ago was able to get the DVD from Amazon.

The movie made an error in speculating the age of Mary when she gave birth to the Messiah. Unless there is concrete evidence one should avoid speculation and presenting it as if it is factual. And that is what the movie “The Young Messiah”, unfortunately did. I study the Bible purely from a historical point of view. This requires extra Biblical information from other historical books and writings about that time frame. In seeing that Jesus had to mind his parents at 12 years old, I highly doubt that Mary was only 14. Yep, I’m speculating but I’m not factual, just opinionated. I have yet to find any verifiable, objective, evidences supporting a 14 year old Mary giving birth to the Christian savior. I also find it interesting that various “Bible Scholars” are in disagreement. Therefore it is an issue that is not solvable (at this time). Additionally, I think it’s wrong for us to attack the Christians God and refer to Him in unsavory terms as one of the commentators did. We should stay intellectual and enjoy an interesting debate about this. :)
