Plot synopsis:
“Based on the novel by former war correspondent J.M. Ledgard, the story begins with a deliriously wild love affair between two people near the resort town of Dieppe, on France’s northern coast. James (James McAvoy) is a globe-trotting water engineer, while Danielle (Alicia Vikander) is a bio-mathematician working on a deep-sea diving project. They fall rapidly and unexpectedly into each other’s arms, even though their jobs are destined to separate them. Neither is fully prepared for what will happen next.

While Danny, fascinated with exploring the ocean’s greatest depths, sets off on a perilous quest, James leaves for Somalia, where he is soon sucked into a geopolitical vortex that puts him in grave danger. Both characters are subject to different kinds of isolation as they pine for each other; their determination to reconnect becomes as much an existential journey as a love story.”

Maggie’s Plan Movie

Thanks to Sony Pictures here’s a first official look at Ethan Hawke and Greta Gerwig in Maggie’s Plan, the upcoming comedy movie written and directed by Rebecca Miller:

(Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Plot synopsis:
“Maggie (Greta Gerwig) wants a baby, but she’s never sustained a relationship longer than six months. She solicits a sperm donation from a Brooklyn pickle entrepreneur — no strings attached — but has hardly even begun the artificial-insemination process when she consummates a budding romance with John (Ethan Hawke), an unhappily married academic.”
Maggie’s rejuvenating enthusiasm lures John away from his wife, domineering Danish critical theorist Georgette Norgaard (Julianne Moore), and the two settle down and have a daughter together. Everything has gone according to Maggie’s plan — so why isn’t she happy? And what sort of meddlesome scheme will she concoct next?”

Great Gerwig is pretty but why for God’s sake would someone leave Julianne Moore for her? Julianne Moore is way prettier!

Besides Greta Gerwig and Ethan Hawke, the cast also includes Julianne Moore, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Travis Fimmel.

Transformers 5 Movie directed by Michael Bay

Michael Bay Transformers 5Director Michael Bay aka the king of explosions was mulling leaving the Transformers movie franchise but he had a change of heart. He just confirmed to Rolling Stone that he will helm the fifth installment. But he also added that Transformers 5 would be his last one that he wants to pass the reins of the alien robots franchise to someone else.

Am glad to hear Michael Bay is staying on board for Transformers 5! Nothing set in stone yet regarding the following sequels, but I guess this time around Michael Bay will indeed abandon the director’s seat once he’s done with the fifth film. He will likely keep an eye on the franchise as producer though.

Transformers 5 will be released in theaters sometime in summer 2017.
