Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer

An official teaser trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy, the new science-fiction superhero movie from Marvel, has leaked online in bootleg version via Rutube! Watch it below:

Guardians of the Galaxy directed by James Gunn

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Plot:
“A jet pilot (Chris Pratt) gets stranded in space, and must unite a diverse team of aliens to form a squad capable of defeating cosmic threats.”

I don’t feel like this film will perform that well in theaters… I mean all those aliens, and can’t say the film look that great… will the average moviegoer show any interest? Or will the film replicate John Carter’s poor performance?

Anyway, what do you think of this trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy? Share your thoughts below!

The release date of Guardians of the Galaxy is set to August 1, 2014.

Dude, Marvel’s characters as a whole were not big at all till the movies so when you say that it might not perform well at theaters i think no no no. An example of this was Iron Man b list character since his movie which smashed it at box offices the only characters that may be known by everyone are Spider-Man and Thor. this movie will smash it at theaters due to Marvel’s brilliant capability to advertise their movies and explain who their characters are and why they do what they do and just the fact that it’s being put out by Marvel and they have comedic names such as John C. Reilly and Chris Pratt in it means that it is sure to do well and this trailer looks sweet.

@Jimmy: Iron man is well known and popular, he’s had or been in like 6 tv cartoon shows and been on all of the ultimate alliance games. I actually agree with what he’s saying.

Iron Man is a b-list marvel character. A lot of people didn’t know much about him until Robert Downey Jr. played him. Sure, he had his own cartoon show, but so did Silver Surfer; Neither one of them had a huge following. It wasn’t until the Iron Man movie that Iron Man became more of a well known hero to people. Sure, he plays a huge role in the Marvel universe, but so does Thanos, and most people didn’t even know who he was until The Avengers movie. I think GotG will surprise people. I have high hopes for it.

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Avengers was just the icing on the cake. All three of those characters were obscure to the average movie goer with no prior knowledge of the comics. Marvel Studios knows what they’re doing. Guardians of The Galaxy will work. Marvel markets the hell out of their movies.

The problem with John Carter was marketing. Disney didn’t market it very well and there was little to no hype over it. Plus Taylor Kistch (spelling?) is just awful anyway.

All Marvel/Disney has to do is place the tagline “From the studio that brought you Iron Man and The Avengers….”

That alone will get peoples attention.

Also, the build up to a Avengers film was a huge risk on Marvels part. Lot’s of people doubted it would work, myself included. When it was released it killed at the box office.

I’m glad that Marvel is going to explore the cosmic side of the MCU because the cosmic storylines have been excellent lately. Avengers pretty much opened that door with the Thanos mid-credits scene. Drax The Destroyer (DaveBautista) and Gamora (Zoe Sladana) have a deep connection with the Mad Titan.

I guarantee that Rocket Raccoon will be a household name. Kids, comic fans, and non-comic readers will eat it up. He’ll be marketed like crazy with toys and most likely plush toys as well.

Chris Pratt as StarLord could very well be the next Iron Man.

Hell this movie may even be Marvel’s “Star Wars”.

Marvel is already laying the foundation for drawing people into the theater to see this movie (I.e. mid credit scene from Thor the dark world). Whether they like it or not the box office will reflect a huge success.
