Three new concept art pictures for Blade Runner 2, the upcoming science-fiction movie sequel directed by Denis Villeneuve based on a script by Hampton Fancher, Michael Green, and Ridley Scott:

The future still looks like a polluted place… but that’s not a real issue I guess because cylon-like androids will inherit the earth and they don’t care about air pollution.

The cast includes Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, and Carla Juri. The plot is still kept under wraps.

The release date of Blade Runner 2 is set to October 6, 2017.

There’s a sequel to cult 1982 science-fiction movie Blade Runner ahead of us: production will indeed start sometime in 2015. Ridley Scott (the director of the first film) and Hampton Fancher (who co-wrote the script of the first film) have been working on a script for Blade Runner 2.

A few words from Ridley Scoot:

“Hampton Fancher and I talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one.

Unfortunately Ridley Scott also said that he won’t be directing the sequel… but he did reveal that Actor Harrison Ford will reprise his role and will show up in the third act of the sequel.
