Director Andrew Niccol (the man behind Gattaca, The Truman Show, Lord of War, S1m0ne, In Time, The Host, and Good Kill) is set to helm Anon, an upcoming science-fiction action movie based on a script he wrote and starring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried. Here’s the first official plot synopsis of Anon:
Plot synopsis:
“In the psychological thriller Anon, Clive Owen plays a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance or anonymity. All our lives are transparent, traceable and recorded by the authorities. It’s the end of crime, it seems. However, when Owen’s character stumbles on a young woman (Amanda Seyfried) with no digital footprint and invisible to the police, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning.”
How can the girl have no digital footprint? Does she come from some secluded place? Or does she belong to the ultimate privileged elite? What do you think?
There’s no official release date yet, but it will likely hit theaters sometime in 2017.
