Here’s a first official look at Class Rank, the upcoming romantic family comedy movie directed by Eric Stoltz based on a script by Benjamin August and starring Skyler Gisondo, Olivia Holt, Bruce Dern, Kathleen Chalfant, Kristin Chenoweth:
“Bernard (Skyler Gisondo) is a compassionate and motivated teenager who has been raised by his quirky grandfather, Oswald (Bruce Dern). When Bernard is approached by his ambitious classmate Veronica (Olivia Holt) who urges him to run for the Board of Education, he jumps at the chance to further his own agenda of improving the educational system and attending a college close to Oswald. After finding out she’s ranked number two in their class, Veronica has an agenda of her own: to expunge the ranking system so she can get into Yale in hopes of becoming the youngest Supreme Court Justice. While attempting to woo the worldly Editor-and-Chief (Kathleen Chalfant) of the local newspaper for an endorsement, Bernard finds a new companion for Oswald. Over the course of their campaign, Bernard and Veronica discover the complexity of their connection and the importance of helping others, while Oswald and the Editor-and-Chief discover a potentially lovely future together.”
So those two young people will learn about the perilous word of politics and a thing or two about love? Sounds like an interesting combo, lol!
The film has yet to get an official release date.
