A first official look at Freak Show, the upcoming drama comedy movie directed by Trudie Styler from a script by Patrick J. Clifton and Beth Rigazio based on the novel of the same name written by James St. James and starring Alex Lawther, Abigail Breslin, Bette Midler, AnnaSophia Robb, Ian Nelson, Lorraine Toussaint, and Laverne Cox:

Plot synopsis:
“The story revolves around Billy Bloom (Alex Lawther), a cross-dressing teenager and new student at an ultra-conservative high school. He’s determined not to change his outlandish outfits or behavior, taking a stand for outcasts and underdogs everywhere by running for homecoming queen.”

Is it courage or folly? Or a bit of both? What do you think?
