Here’s the official movie trailer of Jane Eyre, the upcoming romantic drama movie (emphasis on drama!) directed by Cary Fukunaga and starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender:
JANE EYRE
“Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) flees Thornfield House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester (Michael Fassbender). The isolated and imposing residence – and Mr. Rochester’s coldness – have sorely tested the young woman’s resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned. As Jane reflects upon her past and recovers her natural curiosity, she will return to Mr. Rochester – and the terrible secret that he is hiding… ”
What do you think of Cary Fukunaga’s dark take on Jane Eyre? Is it faithful to Charlotte Bronte’s novel of the same name?
:)
I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte in my sophmore english class this year. It was a lovely tale about love and perseverence. From the looks of this movie trailer, this looks like a horror film which is not what Charlotte Bronte intended in writing Jane’s journey.
