Plot:
“A mousy governess who softens the heart of her employer soon discovers that he’s hiding a terrible secret.”

A few words from Director about his take on Jane Eyre:

“I’ve spent a lot of time rereading the book and trying to feel out what Charlotte Bronte was feeling when she was writing it. That sort of spookiness that plagues the entire story… there’s been something like 24 adaptations, and it’s very rare that you see those sorts of darker sides. They treat it like it’s just a period romance, and I think it’s much more than that.”

Director Cary Fukunaga

The release date of Jane Eyre is set for March 11, 2011.

Jane Eyre was written in a time when Gothic novels were the rage. So suitable to what is enjoyed by many today. I always thought Gothic novels were sort of trashy, but they are great vehicles. I’ve read and studied Jane Eyre many times and loved it. It can be interpreted so many ways, and still be quite true. Can’t wait to see this one!

Jane Eyre is such a classic story and this version looks to be the best for sure. A little darker and mysterious which should be awesome! Cannot wait.
