Still more than six months before the release of J.J. Abrams’ take on Star Trek. But we may expect a first full length Star Trek trailer in front of Quantum of Solace. A few pictures from the movie Star Trek have been released by Paramount to warm up the fans and reignite the buzz around J.J Abrams’ Star Trek movie:

Among the pictures an early look at the cover of the next Entertainment Weekly magazine which will feature Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto who play respectively Jame T. Kirk and the Vulcan Spock. Both are a bit effeminate on this picture: they are not as manly as the original actors William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy… But shall make do with them!
:)
sadly, the image of ferocious Spock grabbing whomever by the throat has been moved or deleted in the photobucket where it originally sat so I cannot look at the larger version but hell if that doesn’t make me ask ‘Whose brain is he about to cut out there?’
j/k, of course, but I do have to say the recognizability (*chuckles* yeah, made that up, but I’m sure you can follow the sense it conveys) of some of the faces worries me. I don’t want to see Sylar traipsing about the screen, nor Doctor Cameron from House, nor Girl Interrupted Winona Ryder or even Eomer (though I do have to admit there is little striking resemblance here). That said, I can only hope the movie will SO draw me in that these resemblances are immediately wiped away.
Hi Silke,
The picture is up again of Spock is up again: http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq272/filmin2009/spock.jpg
The comparison you are drawing with heroes is maybe justified, but you can’t fairly ask Quinto to act like Leonard Nimoy. It is but normal that he has his own acting.
:)
I know, I know *chuckles* I WAS only just kidding, I promise. But like I said, I’m banking on them blowing me out of the water with their visuals and story so that I’ll simply forget any kind of resemblance I can now still see in the stills ;)
