Director Michael Rymer is said to be working on a live-action movie adaptation of Witchblade, a comic book created by Top Cow editors Marc Silvestri and David Wohl. Scriptwriter Everett De Roche is tackling the screenplay. No cast has been announced yet.
Witchblade is about a woman superhero whose powers come from the Witchblade a supernatural, sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers. The vigilante struggles to hone the awesome powers of the Witchblade and fend off those with a nefarious interest in it, especially entrepreneur Kenneth Irons. She also struggles to maintain a personal life.
Well it boils down to a female version of the Green Lantern!
:)
Really, Green Lantern? Haha, that does make sense in a way. The heroine, Sara Pezzini, has a perfect ass that moons her opponents, so you can look at it as a lantern for someone else. I wish Michael Rymer and Everette deRoche good luck on the production, and I hope the cast do well too. I hate it when they choose actors/actresses who aren’t the least bit believable in a movie. I want to see someone’s heart in the role–if there’s a sob story, sob as if it brought back some horrible memory–not physiological responses to a words they have to remember.
