Dwayne Johnson, who’s part Samoan, is lending his voice to the demi-god Maui in Moana, the upcoming CG adventure fantasy animated movie directed by Ron Clements and John Musker for Disney. And we get to see him performing a haka in this new behind-the-scenes video:
It’s my DNA, but hard to explain the “mana” (spiritual power) that comes out when I perform the Haka. Highly intense and emotional and I always need a few minutes to calm down after I do it. I also have to do this last ’cause I blow out my damn vocal chords. 😂 🔫 This is a small clip from today’s work from our new DISNEY animated musical #MOANA This THANKSGIVING. #BloodPumping #Haka #Mana #TimeForWar #PolynesianCulture

For those who don’t know the haka is a traditional war cry, dance, or challenge from the South Pacific Polynesian culture.
Anyway, what do you think of Dwayne Johnson’s haka? Do you feel like joining him and pulling out your tongue like mad man?
