The Angry Birds Movie – Happy Easter!

There’s a new Easter-themed viral video to promote The Angry Birds Movie, the upcoming CG animated movie directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis:

An Easter message from the hatchlings of The Angry Birds Movie.

Happy Easter from the Hatchlings!

Plot synopsis:
“Find out why the birds are so angry. When an island populated by happy, flightless birds is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to three unlikely outcasts – Red, Chuck and Bomb – to figure out what the pigs are up to.”

Those little hatchlings are cute but they sound so annoying that I kind of want to throw them in a meat grinder…

A fat Purple Hatchling eating chocolate - Angry Birds The Movie

I’d spare the chubby purple hatchling’s life though: whoever likes chocolate deserves to live a long life, lol!

Anyway, here’s an additional Easter poster for Angry Birds:

X-MEN APOCALYPSE

Defend!

Plot synopsis:
“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

I guess Raven (portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence), who’s front and center on the poster, will turn to the dark side and switch sides…

Anyway, would you rather destroy or defend?

In theaters: May 27, 2016.

The hardest act to follow if your father’s.

Matters are complicated when his punk rocker daughter Jude arrives in need of a place to stay and burdened with problems of her own….including a rivalry with her overachieving sister, her own ruinous love life, and above all, a fraught relationship with her famous father.”

And here’s the first official trailer:

ONE MORE TIME

From the producers of Beginners and Love is Strange.

Jude is stuck in the present. Paul is stuck in the past.

Between love and anger is where you find your voice.

Am pretty sure the film will be interesting, but this trailer is way too syrupy…

The release date of One More Time is set to April 8, 2016 (in theaters and on VOD).

IN A VALLEY OF VIOLENCE

A man can only take so much.

Plot synopsis:
“A mysterious drifter named Paul (Ethan Hawke) and his dog Abbie (Jumpy) make their way towards Mexico through the barren desert of the old west. In an attempt to shorten their journey they cut through the center of a large valley – landing themselves in the forgotten town of Denton – a place now dubbed by locals as a ‘valley of violence’. The once popular mining town is nearly abandoned, and controlled by a brash group of misfits and nitwits – chief among them, the seemingly untouchable, Gilly (James Ransone) who is the troublemaking son of the town’s unforgiving Marshal (John Travolta). As tensions rise between Paul and Gilly, Denton’s remaining residents bear witness to an inevitable act of violence that starts a disastrous chain reaction, infecting the petty lives of all involved and quickly drags the whole town into the bloody crosshairs of revenge. Mary-Anne (Taissa Farmiga) and Ellen (Karen Gillan), two bickering sisters who run the town’s only hotel, try to find the good in both men, while desperately searching for their own salvation. Only the world-weary Marshal struggles to stop the violent hysteria, but after a gruesome discovery about Paul’s past… there is no stopping the escalation.”

Sooner or later peace will prevail, but right now it’s time for violence: go get your old gun, and get ready to fight western style!

The film will be released in theaters sometime this Fall.
