The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Movie trailer
Thanks to HBO here’s the first official trailer of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, the upcoming drama movie directed by George C. Wolfe and starring Oprah Winfrey, Rose Byrne, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Reg E. Cathey:
In 1951 one woman’s cells changed medicine for everyone and her family didn’t know.
Based on a true story.
The world will know her name.
“Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne star in this adaptation of Rebecca Skloot’s critically acclaimed, bestselling nonfiction book of the same name. Told through the eyes of Henrietta Lacks’ daughter, Deborah Lacks, the film chronicles her search, along with journalist Rebecca Skloot (Byrne), to learn about the mother she never knew and understand how the unauthorized harvesting of Lacks’ cancerous cells in 1951 led to unprecedented medical breakthroughs, changing countless lives and the face of medicine forever.”
Well, the mother did made a great contribution to the advancement of medicine and she deserves recognition for it. That said, her daughter is way too emotional about the whole thing.
The release date of the movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is set to April 22, 2017 on HBO.
