Strange Magic Movie Trailer

We’ve got our hands on the first official trailer of Strange Magic, the upcoming fantasy musical animated movie directed by Gary Rydstrom for LucasFilm:

STRANGE MAGIC

For ages two worlds lived divided: the magical and the mysterious.
Until someone crossed the line…

A battle is brewing.

A potion in unleashed.

From the mind of George Lucas.

They’re as different as night and day.

But sometimes even enemies… just need a little magic.

Plot:
“A musical fairy tale inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The film features popular songs from the last 60 years. Goblins, elves, fairies and imps are all trying to get hold of a magic potion.”

The whole thing feels like a combination of Epic and Gnomeo and Juliet. Can’t say it brings anything new to the animated world… The CG animation isn’t that bad but it’s isn’t flabbergasting either. It’s a bit disappointing knowing the film comes from Lucas…

In theaters: January 23, 2015.

Danny Collins Movie Trailer

Actor Al Pacino got the lead role as an aging rock star in Danny Collins, the upcoming drama movie written and directed by Dan Fogelman. Watch the official movie trailer below:

DANNY COLLINS

Inspired by a true story.

He wrote the songs the world loved…
But not the songs he wanted to write.

There’s always a first time for a second chance.

Featuring songs by John Lennon.

Plot:
“Inspired by a true story, Al Pacino stars as aging 1970s rocker Danny Collins, who can’t give up his hard-living ways. But when his manager (Christopher Plummer) uncovers a 40 year-old undelivered letter written to him by John Lennon, he decides to change course and embarks on a heartfelt journey to rediscover his family, find true love and begin a second act.”

So the chap is filthy rich, he’s surrounded by pretty women, he’s living the dream. And just because some dumb old letter from John Lennon he’s ready to leave it all? How disappointing!

The release date of Danny Collins is set to March 20, 2015.
