We’ve got our hand son the first official trailer of The Salvation, the upcoming drama western movie directed by Danish Filmmaker Kristian Levring and starring Mads Mikkelsen (who’s Danish), Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Eva Green, Mikael Persbrandt, Eric Cantona, and Jonathan Pryce:

1870’s North America

Following a crushing defeat against Germany, many Danish soldiers traveled west in search of a new life.

This is the story of one of them.

Plot:
“1870s America. Mads Mikkelsen plays John, a former soldier and immigrant from Scandinavia who has come to the American West in search of a new life for him, his wife and child. When settler John kills his family’s murderer, he unleashes the fury of notorious gang leader Delarue (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Betrayed by his corrupt and cowardly community, the peaceful pioneer must turn vengeful hunter, slay the outlaws, and cleanse the town’s black heart.”

Am no a big fan of western movies, but I may give this one a try, if only because it’s starring Mads Mikkelsen (who was awesome in Valhalla Rising).

Hundreds of years old, the vampires are finding that beyond sunlight catastrophes, hitting the main artery, and not being able to get a sense of their wardrobe without a reflection-modern society has them struggling with the mundane like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.”

This definitely looks like a bloody funny movie, and could well be the most “realistic” vampire movie ever! Am hooked, I want to see it!

The cast includes Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer, Stu Rutherford, Jackie Van Beek, Ben Fransham, Rhys Darby.

The film has yet to get an official release date.
