The first official teaser trailer of Pompeii, the upcoming drama directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring the Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington, has been released online, you may watch it below:

“Set in 79 A.D., POMPEII tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.”

To die buried under the burning ashes of an erupting volcano, what a horrible death!

Besides Kit Harington, the cast also includes Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland, Jared Harris, Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas and Paz Vega.

The film will hit theaters on February 21, 2014.

The film will be released straight to DVD and BluRay. The release date is set to October 1, 2013.
