By the way, Sherlock Holmes isn’t doing kung-fu, karate or anything like that: he’s doing his own thing, it’s called bartitsu. You may consider bartitsu as a kind of MMA from a century ago.

A second movie trailer of Despicable Me, an upcoming animated movie directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud:
DESPICABLE ME
Plot:
“Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), an Intolerable villain masterminds the ultimate plot to steal the moon, with help from his evil mother. However, when a trio of orphan girls come under his care and refuse to leave, he is forced to rethink his plans.”
Gru may have a hard time to catch the attention of a large public. But I can imagine this film doing well later on some network: still looks like a good movie for kids after all. And actually I kind of like what’s shown in this new movie trailer of Despicable Me: I wish I could fortify my property with so many geeky gadgets!
:)
Plot:
“A rogue prince and a mysterious princess in the mystical lands of Persia race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time – a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.”
I’ve got mixed feeling regarding this movie adaptation of Prince of Persia: on one hand it looks damn good for a live action movie, but on the other hand I’m quite sure it would have been way better if it was all in CGI… Maybe it was too expensive, so they had to resort to real actors… Or they just assumed it would be better with real actors…
Anyway, I’m still quite impatient to watch the movie Prince of Persia.

Angelina Jolie got the lead role as Evelyn Salt in the movie Salt, an upcoming action thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce. Besides Angelina Jolie, the movie Salt is also starring Liev Schreiber
Chiwetel Ejiofor. The release date of Salt is set for July 23, 2010.
Here below a first movie trailer of Salt:
SALT
Plot:
“Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the worlds most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence.”
Cast:
– Angelina Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian sleeper spy.
– Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Peabody, a CIA counterintelligence officer.
– Liev Schreiber plays Salt’s boss and friend.
– Daniel Olbrychski Russian boss.
– Lovari plays one of the Russian thugs.
This movie trailer of Salt looks damn quite good. It’s incredible how Angelina Jolie can still be so fit even after having her kids: she’s an alpha woman, no doubt about that!
The movie Salt will hit theaters on on July 23, 2010.

A bit less than two months before the official release of Avatar: I can barely wait! I definitely have to go watch this movie in the nearest IMAX theater!
:)
So Michael Bay is half-jokingly telling “lies”:
– Transformers 3 won’t be bigger, it will go sideways…
– Bumbleebe would have more screen time
– Bay would like to develop the robot characters
Actually what he’s saying does sound like something reliable. And it fits with what Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said earlier about Transformers 3. So don’t expect Unicron in transformers 3, that’s clear.
And i think it’s a good think that Michael Bay wants to balance the franchise in favor of the characters: we love action, but we need more perspective than in the second opus.
Anyway, Transformers 3 is already in pre-production and is tentatively scheduled for a release in July 2011.
:)
Robert Downey Jr makes a crazy Sherlock Holmes! But I don’t mind Guy Ritchie’s take on the detective: the character created by Conan Doyle needed to be revamped!
:)
Plot:
“The film is set in a mythical world of vikings and dragons. The story centers around a viking teenager named Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel), who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen’s smarts and offbeat sense of humor is disliked by his tribe and its chief, Hiccup’s father. However, when Hiccup is included in Dragon Training with the other viking teens, he sees his chance to prove he has what it takes to be a fighter. But when he encounters (and ultimately befriends) an injured dragon, his world is flipped upside down.”
The movie How To Train Your Dragon feels like Kung Fu Panda: it’s a funny character-driven story in which we may discover some quite interesting personalities. I’m quite sure that the movie How To train Your Dragon is gonna be a blockbuster.

Director Mike Newel has been working on Prince of Persia the movie adaptation of the famous game franchise of the name. Here’s the Prince of Persia trailer:
Plot:
“Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a street urchin in 6th century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king’s two sons will not fight over the throne.[1] He teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).”
Jake Gyllenhaal looks ab it too clean as Dastan, but I don’t mind anymore after seeing this movie trailer of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time!
Jordan Mechner, the creator of the game, who wrote the script of the film, must be be really happy to see how good the movie Prince of Persia is.

You may watch below a first preview clip of Precious, the upcoming drama movie based on the novel Push by Sapphire:
Precious – Your Father
Mrs. Weiss (Mariah Carey) tries to get information about Precious’ (Gabourey Sidibe) father and finds out that he abused her
Plot synopsis:
“In New York City’s Harlem circa 1987, an overweight, abused, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life can head in a new direction.”
Life is damn tough with Precious… Fortunately, some help is coming her way…
By the way:
Did you recognize the singer Mariah Carey in this clip?

Supported by his beautiful wife Aileen (Keri Russell) and their three children, John is on the fast track. But just as his career is taking off, Crowley walks away from it all when his two youngest children, Megan and Patrick, are diagnosed with a fatal disease. With Aileen by his side, harnessing all of his skill and determination, Crowley teams up with a brilliant, but unappreciated and unconventional scientist, Dr. Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford). Together they form a bio-tech company focused on developing a life-saving drug. One driven to prove himself and his theories, the other by a chance to save his children, this unlikely alliance eventually develops into mutual respect as they battle the medical and business establishments in a fight against the system – and time.
But, at the last minute, when it appears that a solution has been found, the relationship between the two men faces a final test – the outcome of which will affect the fate of John’s children.”
Cast:
– Brendan Fraser as John Crowley
– Keri Russell as Aileen Crowley, John’s wife
– Harrison Ford as Dr. Robert Stonehill, an unconventional scientist
The movie Extraordinary Measures is based on the true story of John Crowley, the father of a family whose kids suffer from Pompe disease:
May God bless John Crowley for he is a real hero! And may this story open the eyes of those religious bigots and other Luddites who want to hinder science from making a better world in which kids can be cured from genetics disorders!
