There is a sci-fi movie not to miss this Summer: it’s District 9 directed by Neill Blomkamp. Just take a look to those two viral clips of District 9 to understand why:
The film ‘They Came From Upstairs’ has been retitled to ‘Aliens in the Attic’. The marketing team must be very excited since the change. Just look at this hilarious promotional clip of Aliens in the Attic:
I didn’t know much about Brothers, the new drama movie directed by Jim Sheridan and starring Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Tobey Maguire. But this really well-cut movie trailer of Brothers catches my attention:
BROTHERS
Plot:
“A young man Tommy Cahill (Gyllenhaal) comforts his older brother’s wife Grace (Portman) and her children after his older brother Sam (Maguire) goes missing in Afghanistan. Sam eventually returns and starts asking about what happened while he was missing.”
Can say that the man who’s returning from Afghanistan is crazy, no doubt about that, but well, can’t say he’s evil: life is tough sometimes, and it can drive crazy like what happened with him…
Here’s good summary of Couple Retreats: take a few aging actors, pair them in married couples and send them to an island, that’s it… Couples Retreat is an upcoming not-so-funny comedy directed by Peter Billingsley. Jon Favreau wrote the script of the film, in which he also stars. He should rather focus on Iron Man 2. But I guess it was an escape from all the pressure for him and an excuse to spend some time on a gorgeous tropical island…
Anyway, here below the first official movie trailer of Couples Retreat:
COUPLES RETREAT
Some couples have it all
Some have lost it.
And some will do anything… to get it back.
Four couples… One week…
Let the bonding begin!
Plot:
“A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.”
I’m surprised to see a film like Couples Retreat to get a theatrical release… But well I suppose it will find its public…
;-P
Round is good, round is foxy!
Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) venture into an ice cave.
There is a lesson to learn in this clip of Ice Age 3: never tell a woman she’s round, even if you believe that it’s foxy… Better to tell her that’s she’s gorgeous, but at the end, cautious silence will always be better than white lies!
;-P
We may now watch the theatrical trailer of Planet 51, an upcoming sci-fi animated movie directed by Jorge Blanco and produced by Ilion Animation Studios:
The pet-like robot is adorable. But one would not want a pet robot so similar to a living one: I mean, who would like to have a pet robot that would pee on stuffs… Better to have the real deal or none!
Anyway the movie Planet 51 looks like a winner as the family movie of choice for this Thanksgiving 2009.
:)
A new movie trailer of Carriers has shown up online, you may watch it below:
CARRIERS
Plot:
“Four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.
A deadly virus has spread across the globe. Contagion is everywhere, no one is safe and no one can be trusted. Four young attractive people race through the back roads of the American West to the pounding beat of a vacation soundtrack. Their aim is to retreat to secluded utopian beach in the Gulf of Mexico, where they could peacefully wait out the pandemic and survive the apocalyptic disease. CARRIERS follow their getaway through a surreal and dangerous world where laws and rules no longer apply. Their plans take a grim turn when their car breaks down on an isolated road starting a chain of events that will seal the fate of each of them in an inexorable and horrifying voyage of hell through a western landscape populated by only the hideous dead or the twisted living. Their desperate retreat south turns into a deadly battle against infected children, homicidal doctors, crazed survivalists, rabid dogs, and, finally each other. The virus is the least of their problems as horrible choices must be made in the face of lost humanity.”
Carriers is directed by the Pastor brothers (Alex Pastor and David Pastor) and is starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Chris Pine (Kirk from Star Trek), Piper Perabo and Emily VanCamp. It will be released on September 4, 2009.
Don’t forget to wear a face mask when you go watch the movie Carriers in your local theater: some could be infected by the zombie-flu virus!

Director Steven Soderbergh wants to take a look to the corporate world of the of the late-1980s/early-1990s. The story of his last movie, The Informant, revolves around Mark Whitacre, a former high-ranking ADM executive who turned whistleblower. The film is starring Matt Damon in the lead role. It should be released in October 2009.
If you’re wondering Mark Whitacre really behaved like this in real life, well it seems so: Mark Whitacre was suffering of bipolar disorder, so yes he was kind of nuts… But still, he was yearning for some justice and this guided him to help the FBI.
I think I’m going to enjoy The Informant movie.

Thanks to Russian site Filmz, we may watch below a four-minute clip of Harry Potter 6, aka Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (it’s a bit slow to load, and it’s in German, but well…):
Here’s an other lighthearted comedy, the movie Spread, starring Ashton Kutcher in the lead role along Anne Heche and Margarita Levieva. But it’s more sex-a-licious than the Invention of Lying: the story of Spread revolves around a serial womanizer and his jilted lover.
Here below the first official trailer of Spread:
SPREAD
Women can’t get enough of him.
And once they take him home
they never want him to leave…
Until he met the one woman… who had him all figured out!
This Summer,
the guy who sleeps his way through life will get the ultimate wwake-up call
Plot:
“Nikki (Ashton Kutcher) isn’t a gigolo. He’s a sexual grifter and a fun-loving, freeloading hipster who understands his greatest assets are his looks and sexual prowess, which he uses to charm his way into the hearts of the city’s richest women while enjoying their lifestyle.
Nikki gets a free place to live, fantastic gifts, “A”-list access and plenty of sex. The women get to feel young, beautiful and utterly fulfilled in the bedroom. It’s a mutually beneficial situation. Nikki’s latest conquest is Samantha (Anne Heche): a stunning middle-aged lawyer who gives him more than he’s ever had before.
But then he meets a gorgeous waitress his own age named Heather (Margarita Levieva). She comes to visit Nikki at Samantha’s house while Samantha is out of town, sees what an incredible place it is and comes to the mistaken conclusion it’s his. Unbeknownst to Nikki, Heather lives by playing the same game.”
The handsome Ashton Kutcher is not a gigolo, but with such a role can but think about the sixteen-year age difference between him and his wife Demi Moore…

Comments Off on Michael Mann's Public Enemies Movie
Here below a few preview clips from Director Michael Mann’s Public Enemies movie, the upcoming gangster movie that revolves around the cat-and-mouse game between John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and FBI Agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale):
War on crime
J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) introduces Agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) to the press.
Sitting Amongst You
John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his gang watch a newsreel about themselves in a movie theater.
Johnny Depp has definitely more charisma than Christian Bale on screen. Must be because Christian Bale’s acting is a bit too cold, and I’m not just talking about his rola in the movi Public Enemies, I mean in general…
Anyway more preview clips of Public Enemies are available: Continue reading »
Director Mira Nair has tackled the movie adaptation of American Aviation pioneer Amelia Mary Earhart’s life. The film chronicles Earhart’s rise to fame and follows her rocky relationship with her husband George Putnam. Hilary Swank got the lead role as Amelia Earhart and Richard Gere plays the role of Amelia’s husband. The movie Amelia will be released on October 23, 2009. You may watch below the first official movie trailer of Amelia:
Plot:
“A look at the life of legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world.”
Aviator Amelia Earhart made history in 1932 by becoming the first woman ever to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Sadly, five years later, as Earhart attempted to fly around the world, the pilot and her plane simply vanished after crashing into the Pacific Ocean…
The real Amelia Aerhart and Actress Hilary Swank look somewhat alike:
Good that they’re making this biopic tracing the life of Amelia Earhart: I’ll bring my daughter to watch the film, it could inspire her!
