Plot:
“The story takes place on planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy brother, Gary, head of mission control at BASA. When BASA’s no-nonsense chief Lena informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary’s warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker it’s up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing. The animated movie Escape from Planet Earth has been stuck in development since quite long. But I just spotted a first official teaser trailer of Escape From Planet Earth on the site of Rainmaker Studio:

Does this video mean that, at long last, we’ll get to see the movie Escape From Planet Earth? Well, really not sure..

Escape From Planet Earth is an upcoming CGI animated comedy movie developed by Vancouver-based Rainmakers Animation. The story revolves around a group of aliens who try to break from Area 51 where they’ve been secretly detained by the US government. The film will be released sometime in 2010.

Plot:
“Escape from Planet Earth is a comedy about an alien prison break from Area 51, the legendary government facility rumored to imprison aliens from every corner of the universe, from which no one ever returns. Gary, an alien every-man, must overcome his fears and self-doubt to lead a daring escape, rescuing not just himself and the other inmates, but also his wife and young daughter, not only from Area 51, but from the Earth, long considered the Bermuda Triangle of the Universe.”

Judging from the pictures above, the CGI in Escape from Planet Earth isn’t exactly state-of-the-art CGI. But the plot sounds interesting. I wonder how the film is going to turn out. A movie trailer of Escape from Planet Earth should show up soon, so we’ll have a better idea by then!
