The film is directed by Debra Granik.

Just from the trailer one can tell that Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie is totally nailing the role. She’s got talent, definitely!

A first official look at Leave No Trace, the upcoming drama movie directed by Debra Granik based on a script she co-wrote with Peter Rock and Anne Rosellini and starring Ben Foster, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Jeff Kober, and Dale Dickey:

Plot synopsis:
“For years Will and his teenage daughter, Tom, have lived off the grid, blissfully undetected by authorities in a vast nature reserve on the edge of Portland, Oregon. When a chance encounter blows their cover, they’re removed from their camp and put into the charge of social services. Struggling to adapt to their new surroundings, Will and Tom set off on a perilous journey back to the wilderness, where they are finally forced to confront conflicting desires—a longing for community versus a fierce need to live apart.”

I may understand the chap’s desire to live alone, but for the sake of his daughter he’d better man up and give her a real home!

The film has yet to get an official release date.
