The film is starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Jesse Plemons, David Warshofsky, Amy Adams, Rami Malek.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and after his release from founded his controversial sect in 1952, the same year as the religion in the script. And Hoffman does share a physical resemblance to Hubbard. So is The Master a movie about Hubbard and Scientology?
