Director Christopher Nolan is currently filming a new science-fiction movie in Alberta, Canada. The film is titled Interstellar. It is starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, Mackenzie Foy, Timothée Chalamet, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine. Here’s the official plot synopsis of Interstellar:

Plot:
“The film chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.”

I’ve heard that Kip Thorne, one of the world’s leading experts on the astrophysical implications of Einstein’s general theory of relativity, is consulting on the film. Does that mean it’s going to be a hard science-fiction film? Well, since Christopher Nolan is involved I don’t think so… guess it’s just going to be a damn entertaining movie based on some awesome twisted science theory.

Considering the impressive cast, I doubt Interstellar is going to be a space opera, more likely to be a character-driven movie with space travel and possibly time travel for background (we’re speculating here).

The release date of Interstellar is set for November 7, 2014.

I don’t feel like this film will perform that well in theaters… I mean all those aliens, and can’t say the film look that great… will the average moviegoer show any interest? Or will the film replicate John Carter’s poor performance?
