Director Martin McDonagh (who helmed In Bruges) has been working on Seven Psychopaths, a star-studded, blood-drenched, black comedy movie based on a script he wrote. Here’s the first official movie trailer of Seven Psychopaths:

SEVEN PSYCHOPATHSPlot:
“Marty (Colin Farrell) is a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay Seven Psychopaths. All he needs is a little focus and inspiration.
Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty’s best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary.
Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy’s partner in crime. A religious man with a violent past. Charlie (Woody Harrelson) is the psychopathetic gangster whose beloved Shih Tzu dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie’s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone or anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale.”

Shih Tzus aren’t dogs: they’re cute little furry monsters!

Anyway, the film is starring Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko, and Zeljko Ivanek. The release date of Seven Psychopaths is set for October 12, 2012.

Plot:
“Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) is a structural engineer who is wrongly convicted of a crime. Breslin designed a variety of high tech buildings and was a top structural engineer. After Breslin was wrongly convicted, he was sent to serve his sentence in a maximum security prison of his own design. During his time in prison, Breslin has analyzed every high security prison and gained significant survival skills, but faces his biggest challenge in trying to break out of an ultimate high-tech prison that he himself designed to be escape-proof.
Not only facing the challenge of breaking out of the escape-proof prison, Breslin also has the challenge of battling the ruthless warden Hobbs (Jim Caviezel) and his corrupt guard (Jones). Breslin is assisted in his escape attempt by fellow prisoner Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Rottmayer is a wise, soulful and complex inmate who fights with other prisoners to keep their humanity, whilst they are struggling to stay alive. Breslin and Rottmayer will be joined in their escape by a third prisoner that is an expert in computers (50 Cent).”

The film is directed by Mikael Hafstrom (who helmed The Rite).
