X-Men First Class 2 is set to start filming in January 2013 in order to avoid potential conflict with Lionsgate plans for The Hunger Games sequel involving Jennifer Lawrence.

Director Matthew Vaughn who helmed the first film is back to direct the sequel and we may expect Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. From what I heard X-Men First Class 2 is likely to focus more on Erik Lehnsherr, on how he becomes the villainous Magneto following the events seen in the first film.

No official release date yet, but I guess the film will hit theaters in Summer 2014.
