Director Luc Besson is working on The Lady, a movie about the life of Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The film is starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis. Here’s a first look at The Lady:

Plot:
“The film will chart her remarkable journey from housewife bringing up her children in Oxford to taking on the power of Burma’s generals by becoming opposition leader.
It will be set between 1988 – when Aung San Suu Kyi left Oxford to visit her sick mother and ended up staying – and 1999, the year Aris died after being diagnosed with cancer. Aris had been forbidden from entering Burma, a decision that left Aung San Suu Kyi with the almost impossible decision of whether to stay or go”

I’m no fan of Aung San Suu Kyi: I think people who supported her and the embargo over the year were blind to Burma’s plight and just made it heavier… But I’ll still go watch The Lady because I’m definitely fan of Luc Besson and Michelle Yeoh.

Waiting For Forever is an upcoming romantic drama movie written by Steve Adams and directed by James Keach. The film is starring Rachel Bilson and Tom Sturridge. It will be released on February 4, 2011. Here’s the first official movie trailer of Waiting for forever:

Fox also announced that Scrat is getting its own short film, titled Scrat’s Continental Crack Up, it will be shown in front of Gulliver’s Travels, beginning December 25, 2010. The special holiday treat sees Scrat still scrambling after the cursed acorn he’s been craving since the first Ice Age film. Only this time, the chase has world-changing consequences. Forget what you’ve learned in geology about the continents forming as a result of massive tectonic shifts and volcanic eruptions tearing land masses apart. Filmax is planning not just one but two more REC movies. Rec 3, titled Rec Genesis, is likely to be a prequel. But Rec 4 will be a sequel to Rec 2. The fourth Rec movie is titled Rec Apocalypse. From what I heard, those goddamn zombies will find a way to escape from quarantine and the film will end the saga with the infection spreading to unknown proportions.
