Movie Plot:
“A mysterious, seemingly global blackout yields countless populations to simply vanish, leaving only their clothes and possessions behind. Five survivors including a reporter (Hayden Christensen) and a nurse (Thandie Newton) converge in a small tavern and try to make sense of the mystery. But when they discover that shadowy figures wandering in the darkness are the cause of the phenomenon a desperate fight for survival begins.”

The official synopsis of Vanishing on 7th Street doesn’t reveal the origins of those mysterious shadowy figures, but Actor John Leguizamo did give a hint in the interview:

“When I read it, I was really creeped out and scared in my own house. It’s things that you really think about… […] all the stuff we talk about, the anti-matter, smashing particles at CERN in Geneva, are all really happening now Brad has added an extra layer with actual facts.”

The cast of Vanishing on 7th Street includes Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Jacob Latimore, and Taylor Groothuis. The film will most probably be released in 2010.

Disney has hired Director Andrew Stanton to helm John Carter of Mars, a live-action movie about the character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs for his Barsoom series. The cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, and Willem Dafoe .

Actress Helen Mirren got the lead role as the witch Prospera in The Tempest, an upcoming fantasy drama movie written and directed by Julie Taymor based on William Shakespeare’s play of the same name. Besides Helen Mirren the cast also includes Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Djimon Hounsou, David Strathairn, Chris Cooper and Alan Cumming. The release date is set for December 10, 2010.
