Jonah Hill 21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street MovieActor Jonah Hill gave an update to ComingSoon about the upcoming 21 Jump Street movie he’s involved in:

21 Jump Street Trailer

“Audiences are not expecting what it’s going to be. It’s not a parody of the show. I’m not playing Johnny Depp’s character… I’m not saying I’m Johnny Depp. I’m not playing his character. It’s a group of people that go back to high school to deal with a drug problem. To deal with crime in high school. I really love the ‘Back to the Future’ moment of that where it’s getting to relive a certain period of your life… It’s a comedy with really cool action. We’re not doing something serious like ‘Miami Vice.’ But it’s not a parody. It’s a funny movie with a lot of great action and a real story. I’ve been saying that it’s like a John Hughes movie with ‘Bad Boys’ style action.
[..]
There might be a couple of surprises in there… The Chapel’s there. There will be stuff from the show”

Jonah Hill

21 Jump Street, a comedy? Really? Come on, 21 Jump Street was a great cop show in its own genre, but it sure wasn’t a comedy series! Why does he need to change that? I’m a bit lost after reading Jonah Hill’s words… I was rather glad when I heard about this movie adaptation, but now, I’m afraid they’re going to MacGruberize my dear 21 Jump Street! Let’s hope for a miracle then!

Spy Next Door Movie with Jackie ChanHere’s the latest clip of the Spy Next Door:

Spy Next Door – Bob Ho
Bob Ho (Jackie Chan) battles a bad guy.

Jackie Chan must be the reincarnation of the Monkey King (and not Jet Li), I can’t explain his agility otherwise!

Joe Jonhston Jurassic Park 4

Jurassic Park IVIn an interview given to the BoxOffice Magazine, Director Joe Jonhston briefly talked about Jurassic Park 4:

Jurassic Park 4 Trailer

Joe Johnston - Jurassic Park 4

“Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen. It breaks away from the first three—it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way. That’s pretty much all I can tell you. […] If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy.”

Director Joe Jonhston

Good to have a confirmation that there will be Jurassic Park 4, but when does filming start? Hope he will give more details about Jurassic Park 4 soon!

Tekken Trailer

TEKKEN

Plot:
“A high-octane action movie about a young man who discovers he holds a great power and must battle a team of elite fighters who will stop at nothing in order to get it from him.”

Doesn’t look that bad! Actually I’m even quite impressed by this trailer of Tekken! I definitely want to see more!

The movie Tekken is directed by Dwight H. Little and starring Jon Foo, Kelly Overton, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Ian Anthony Dale, Cung Le, Darrin Dewitt Henson, and Luke Goss. It will hit theaters sometime in 2010.

Todd Phillips Due Date

Due Date MovieDirector Todd Phillips who brought us the Hangover last year is working on Due Date, an upcoming comedy starring Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis.

Due Date Pictures

Take a look to those new pictures of Due Date:

(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)

Plot:
“The plot of Todd Phillips’ Due Date focuses on two men: a highly strung expectant father (Downey, Jr.) and an aspiring actor (Galifianakis) on a cross country road trip so the father can arrive in time to see his child’s birth.”

Doesn’t seem like the road trip ahead of Robert Downey Jr in the movie Due Date is going to be a smooth journey! I guess Zach Galifianakis is to be blamed for Downey’s injury…

Do you think the dog seen on the picture above will travel along Downey and Galifianakis in the movie Due Date?

Joe Johnston Captain America

CaptainThanks to the Box Office Magazine we may learn a bit more about Director Joe Johnston’s take on Captain America, the upcoming live-action movie that will be released in July 2011:

Captain America directed by Joe Johnston

“It is influenced by the comic book, but it goes off in a completely different direction. It’s the origin story of Captain America. It’s mostly period—there are modern, present-day bookends on it—but it’s basically the story of how Steve Rogers becomes Captain America. The great thing about Captain America is he’s a super hero without any super powers. Which is why this story, among the hundreds of super hero stories, appealed to me the most. He can’t fly, he can’t see through walls, he can’t do any of that stuff. He’s an every man who’s been given this amazing gift of transformation into the perfect specimen—the pinnacle of human perfection.
How does that affect him? What does that mean for him emotionally and psychologically?”

Director Joe Johnston

Sounds like Joe Johnston (who doesn’t look like a comic-book fan…) did some research about Captain America! And I’m glad his grasps of the character’s personality will be a real boon for the film! Impatient to see his take on Captain America!
