Due Date is an upcoming comedy movie directed by Todd Phillips (who brought us the Hangover) and starring Robert Downey Jr, Jamie Foxx, Zach Galifianakis, and Michelle Monaghan. It is set for a release on November 5, 2010.

Plot:

Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis together as the lead actors of a comedy movie directed by the Hangover Director Todd Phillips? Damn, sign me up for that one! I bet we’re all going to have a good laugh with the movie Due Date.

I’m a bit disappointed that they cut the most interesting part with the old lady swearing like a trooper… But fortunately we can still watch it in the red band trailer, plus some more footage of the same scene:

Frank Miller is working on a prequel to his graphic novel 300. The prequel to 300, titled Xerxes, will most likely be adapted into a movie Zack Snyder has expressed his interest.

Here’s what Frank Miller said about Xerxes:

“It’s the battle of Marathon through my lens. I’ve finished the plot and I’m getting started on the artwork.”

But there is something I don’t really understand. The battle of Marathon was fought between the citizens of Athens and a Persian force commanded by Datis and Artaphernes. It was the culmination of the first attempt by Persia, under King Darius I, to subjugate Greece. But despite the numerical advantage of the Persians, the hoplites proved devastatingly effective against the more lightly armed Persian infantry, routing the wings before turning in on the centre of the Persian line. Darius was Xerxes’ father.

So Xerxes, who is Darius’ son, wasn’t much involved in the battle of Marathon… Or did I miss something?

Anyway hope to get more information more about the movie Xerxes soon!

Director Ridley Scott has been working on Robin Hood, a new movie based on the famous outlaw, with Russell Crowe in the lead role. Well, the trailer of Robin Hood is finally available online (via First Showing):

“A telling of the origin of the legendary Robin Hood, the Sherwood Forest warrior who stole from the rich to give to the poor, sticking closely to the facts of the time. Robin is abandoned by his parents as a child and finds comfort and acceptance with the people of Nottingham. The traumas of his younger life leave him reluctant to fall in love, but that changes when he meets the headstrong Maid Marian.”

Director Ridley Scott is bringing us a brand new take on the story of Robin Hood. One that looks more realistic and more action packed than what we are used to, and one can’t deny that it does look good!

Too bad we won’t really see her in the movie Avatar: they used motion capture to create a female Na’vi based on her… She’s also lending her voice to the character. That’s great, but I’d rather watch the real beautiful Zoe Saldana than that giant blue alien thing!

The poster comes to us from Japan, hence the manga feel to it. But I actually even suspect some Japanese influence in the very design of the dragon by Dreamworks!

It was awesome to see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) building his armors in the first Iron Man movie. And I’m quite glad to see that he’s still geeking out on something in the movie sequel Iron man 2:
