They’re quite mysterious about this project… Well, if Ralph Fiennes is in it, I suppose it means that Cemetery Junction will be a good movie.

I feel kind of uneasy at watching those écorchés… Must be because of the contrast of the skin over the metalic skeleton…

Plot of Surrogates:
“In the year 2017 two FBI Agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigates the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves – fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles – enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. ”

The movie Surrogates is directed by Jonathan Mostow and will hit theaters on September 25, 2009.

The Book of Eli is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Could be just a new Mad-Max-like movie, but I have hope that Denzel Washingtom will amaze us and bring something new to the genre.

We got our hands on a first picture of Actor Jackson Rathbone as Sokka in Shyamalan’s Last Airbender:

Sokka is a young warrior of the Southern Water Tribe (and actually the only one left in his village since all the men have been made prisoners by the Fire Nation). With his sister, Katara, he accompanies Aang on his quest to defeat the Fire Lord. The joker of the group, Sokka describes himself as “meat-loving” and “sarcastic”. Unlike his companions, Sokka is not gifted with the power of bending an element, but the series, though it often makes him the victim of comedy at his expense, frequently grants him opportunities to use his ingenuity and weapons, including his trusty boomerang and a sword he forged from a meteorite.

I like the character of Sokka: he’s the stupid idiot who manages to stay clever and still get the girls. I bet that Jackson Rathbone will perform well as Sokka in the upcoming Last Airbender movie.

We may have a first look at Whip It!, an upcoming drama comedy movie directed by Actress-turned-director Drew Barrymore and starring Ellen Page:

– Marcia Gay Harden as Bliss’s mother, who would prefer her daughter enter beauty pageants than roller derbies.
– Kristen Wiig as Malice in Wonderland, Bliss’s mentor.
– Alia Shawkat as Pash, Bliss’s best friend.
– Jimmy Fallon as the MC.
– Landon Pigg as Oliver, Bliss’s guitar playing love interest, member of a band.
– Juliette Lewis as Iron Maven, a rival player on Austin’s top team.
– Drew Barrymore as Smashly Simpson, one of Bliss’s teammates

Those girls look like crazy. I guess the movie Whip It will be much more interesting and funny to watch than the usual tale of rebellion against rebellion against parental authority.
