Here’s a first official look at Asa Butterfield as a young British Lieutenant during World War I in Journey’s End, the upcoming period war drama movie directed by Saul Dibb:
(Click on the picture to enlarge.)
Plot synopsis:
“It is March 1918 and new recruit 18-year-old Lieutenant Raleigh (Asa Butterfield) has pulled strings to join his childhood friend and hero Captain Stanhope (Sam Claflin) on the front line. Stanhope is horrified by Raleigh’s arrival into the tension and claustrophobia of the officers’ dugout where they are anticipating a massive German advance.
Stanhope has been altered almost beyond recognition by three years of war, kept going by the thought that when the war is over he can return to his love – Raleigh’s sister Margaret. And now he must protect her brother from almost certain death. The stakes could not be higher.”
He looks way too young to be sent to the front…
Still no official release date.

Carrie Pilby – Fun, you heard of the concept?Plot synopsis:
“Carrie Pilby (Bel Powley) is a genius who graduated Harvard at 18. Convinced that the world is populated by oversexed hypocrites, she has a hard time making sense of life as it relates to morality, relationships, sex and leaving her apartment. In an effort to coax Carrie out of her shell, her psychiatrist (Nathan Lane), makes a deceptively simple checklist of goals for her to achieve between Thanksgiving and the year’s end. Each goal brings Carrie closer to the understanding that humans, like books, can’t be judged by their covers.”

You may watch below the official trailer of The Journey, the upcoming drama movie directed by Nick Hamm and starring Freddie Highmore, Toby Stephens, John Hurt, Catherine McCormack, Timothy Spall, and Ian McElhinney:
THE JOURNEYPlot synopsis:
“The Journey is the gripping account of how two men from opposite sides of the political spectrum came together to change the course of history. In 2006, amidst the ongoing, decades-long conflict in Northern Ireland, representatives from the two warring factions meet for negotiations. In one corner is Ian Paisley (Timothy Spall), the deeply conservative British loyalist; in the other is Martin McGuinness (Colm Meaney), a former Irish Republican Army leader who has devoted his life to the cause of Irish reunification. Opposites in every way, the two men at first seem to have little chance of ever finding common ground. But over the course of an impromptu, detour-filled car ride through the Scottish countryside, each begins to see the other less as an enemy, and more as an individual—a breakthrough that promises to at last bring peace to the troubled region. Driven by two virtuoso central performances, The Journey is a more-relevant-than-ever reminder of how simple humanity can overcome political division. John Hurt costars.”
Do you think Brexit could risk the hard-won peace in northern Ireland?
Release date: June 16, 2017.
