The Emoji Movie

Have you ever heard about emojis? Yep, am talking about those are little ideograms and smileys used in electronic messages and Web pages. Well, emojis are set to make it to the big screen. Sony Pictures Animation is indeed developing an animated movie revolving around that will offer a surprising and comic take on the secret world of our phones and the little characters that have become daily necessities in global interpersonal communication.

The film is currently titled “The Emoji Movie”. Director Anthony Leondis is directing based on a script he co-wrote with Eric Siegel.

Here’s the plot synopsis:
“The story of Gene, an emoji that lives inside a texting app on a teenager’s smartphone. In Gene’s world, each emoji has only one expression, but gene is different — he’s bursting with multiple expressions. Gene is worried that if he can’t find a way to be ‘normal’, he’ll disappoint his family, or worse, be deleted. Determined to change his unusually expressive personality, gene needs a ‘code’ that will fix his programming and make him like everyone else. With the help of his emoji friends, Gene’s search takes him on a fun-filled adventure across the teenager’s smartphone, from his hope in a texting app through a succession of apps (including a gaming app, a music streaming app, a photo-sharing app, a video streaming app, a dance app, and a file-sharing app).”

Edge of Tomorrow 2 Movie – The sequel to Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow 2 movieSounds like there’s a sequel to the 2014 science-fiction Edge of Tomorrow ahead of us! Actually, back in July 2015 Tom Cruise already revealed to MTV he had an idea for a possible sequel:

Tom CruiseI pitched it to Christopher McQuarrie and Doug Liman. We were there one night and I was like, ‘I’ve got an idea for it.’… It could be so much fun. Gotta get Emily Blunt.”

But it’s only now that we hear again about the sequel. Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have indeed been hired to pen a script. And Director Doug Liman will helm the project.

The film has yet to get an official release date.
