PROJECT LAZARUS

Immortality was only a matter of time.

Mateo Gil said earlier about the film:

“Project Lazarus is a film about death, decline and the life that we insist on planning for our future selves: it’s about the serious mistake that this can turn out to be. Linked in some ways to the legend of Frankenstein, it will take on the format of a diary of the journey to purgatory, narrated in first person by the lead character, a monster, and interspersed with his memories, although these will be tinged with an aura of romanticism. That will determine the aesthetics of the film: the past will be vibrant and bursting with color, in search of excitement, while the scenes set in the future will be more sober and distant, taking place in sterile settings. The plot unfolds in 2074, within a single building, where prominent figures in the field of clinical technology and experts in cryogenic preservation have gathered.”

It’s kind of hard to think about Magneto as some evil higher power’s minion… he’s too independent and clever! I guess he’s in only to increase his superpowers, and is already scheming to take over the lead.

Trailer of Steven Spielberg’s The BFG

The BFGThere’s a new trailer for The BFG, the upcoming fantasy adventure movie directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Ruby Barnhill, Mark Rylance, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Rebecca Hall, and Penelope Wilton:

THE BFG

This Summer the world is more giant than you can imagine!

Plto synopsis:
“The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle. Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams. Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows, but Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see the Queen (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all. ”

A closer look at the giant’s face:

(Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Why does the big friendly giant look like a giant E.T. at times? Is it because of Steven Spielberg’s involvement? Anyway, can’t say am impressed with this trailer, not excited yet abut seeing this film. And you?

The film will be released in theaters on July 1, 2016.
