Thanks to Paramount Pictures here’s the first official trailer of Ben-Hur, the adventure drama movie directed by Timur Bekmambetov and starring Jack Huston, Morgan Freeman, Toby Kebbell, Pilou Asbaek, Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, James Cosmo, and Rodrigo Santoro:

Plot synopsis:
“The epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Also starring Morgan Freeman and Rodrigo Santoro.”

BEN-HUR
First to finish. Last to die.
In theaters and Real 3D.
Well, this trailer of Ben-Hur was rather underwhelming. It doesn’t look bad, but since they’re doing a remake of an iconic movie, one would expect some really fresh new take on Ben-Hur and not just a modern rehash…
Anyway, the whole thing will be entertaining, I guess…
The film will hit theaters on August 12, 2016.
