The Other Side of the Door movie – Aghori and The legend of the door

The Other Side of the Door movie - Sadhu - AghoriThere’s a new animated video to promote The Other Side of the Door, the upcoming horror movie directed by Johannes Roberts. Watch it below to learn more about the supernatual door and the ash-covered sadhus from the film:

The Other Side of the Door – The legend of the door
Plot synopsis:
“A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son (Logan Creran / Jax Malcolm). The inconsolable mother (Sarah Wayne Callies) learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.”

A transcript of the video:

“Deep in the forest of India this is the Aghori. They do not fear death, they embrace it: theyc over themselves in the ashes of the dead, they feed on their flesh. The Aghori believe that these rituals allow them to speak directly to the other side. These beliefs have led them here at the foot of an ancient temple a channel they believe between the living and the dead. Inside this temple there’s a door new this door the ashes of those departed are spread. If the ritual has been performed correctly the dead will speak to you from the other side. But the poowers of this door must be respected at all cost. Be warned one must never open this door. Not matter how much you hear them beg, no matter how much you hear them bleed: do not open the door!”

Wondering about the Aghori? Here’s a description from wikipedia:

“The Aghori (Sanskrit aghora) are ascetic Shaiva sadhus. The Aghori in Shaivism. The Aghori are known to engage in post-mortem rituals, sometimes involving cannibalism or necrophilia.”

A TV spot focusing on those crazy chaps:

The Other Side of the Door – Aghori

What’s on the other side of the door?
The Aghori of India and Southeast Asia feed off death…
And they will find you.

Those spooky sadhus should go back to their forest and let people live!

Wondering about something though: since they’re cannibal are Aghori plagued with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease?

In theaters: March 4, 2016.

LOUDER THAN BOMBS
Plot synopsis:
“Two years after her death in a car crash, the husband and sons of famed photographer Isabelle Reed (Isabelle Huppert) are still trying to cope with their loss. Gene (Gabriel Byrne) struggles as a single parent, but is taking his first exultant steps towards a new relationship. Jonah (Jesse Eisenberg), the elder son, has just had a baby of his own and finds the transition from child to parent more than a little daunting. The younger son, Conrad (newcomer Devin Druid), is a typical teenager, wearing his alienation as a badge of honor and resisting his father’s every attempt to connect. On the occasion of a major retrospective of Isabelle’s work, Jonah returns home to help his father organize her effects. Once again under the same roof, all three men are flooded with memories, and secrets are unearthed — most notably the truth behind the mysterious circumstances of Isabelle’s death. Shifting between past and present, and juxtaposing external reality with privileged glimpses into the interior lives of each of its four major characters, LOUDER THAN BOMBS is a stunningly intimate portrait of parents and children and the many things that tear them apart and bring them together.”
