Here’s a first official look at Actress Scarlett Johansson as the cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell, the upcoming live-action action science-ficiton movie directed by Rupert Sanders based on the manga series of the same name by Masamune Shirow,:

Plot synopsis:
“Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, ‘GHOST IN THE SHELL’ follows Cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi (Scarlett Johansson) aka The Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.”

Why does she look like a soft adult-themed doll? The cyborg from the original manga was definitely sexy, but she was not soft doll! Anyway, let’s wait for more material from the film….

Besides Scarlett Johansson, the cast also includes Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Juliette Binoche, Kaori Momoi, Danusia Samal, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo.

The release date is set to March 31, 2017.

I can’t say I care about Max, the lead character… I feel like he’s totally eclipsed by the villain and the supporting characters. What do you think?
